During December 20-22, at the sports base of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the Christmas student football tournament was held among the picked teams of the Sports Schools of Poltava, born in 2015, with the support of the rector of the university, the head of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports in the Poltava Region, Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
8 picked teams of young athletes of the Poltava Sports School “Molod-2016” (coach – Maksym Dotsenko), Sports Football School “Vorskla” (coach – Yevhen Bakhurynskyi), Football Club “Golden Eagle” (coach – Dmytro Palapa), Football Club “Poltava” (coaches – Oleh Kryvenko, Serhii Rodevych) and Football Club “Shakhtar” (coach – Vladyslav Oleksiienko) took part in the competition.
Honorary guests attended the closing ceremony of the tournament: Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the university, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, Captain of the “Vorskla” football club Volodymyr Chesnakov and the chief referee of the competition, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education, coach of the students’ picked team of the Poltava Polytechnic in football Oleksii Vorobiov.
Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko conveyed sincere salutations from the rector of the university, Volodymyr Onyshchenko, head of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports in the Poltava region, and congratulated the athletes on the completion of the tournament.
“I am glad to congratulate all the participants of the competition – the youngest visitors of the football section of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, young football athletes born in 2015, coaches, parents and fans with the completion of the competition dedicated to the New Year holidays. All of you competed worthily for the championship, but only the best won.
We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which maintain the defence and give us the opportunity to hold these events,” – said Lina Rybalko.
Captain of the “Vorskla” football club Volodymyr Chesnakov thanked the tournament organizers and coaches, and wished the young footballers good health, fulfilment of their dreams, to play and love football.
During the ceremonial closing of the tournament, FC “Shakhtar” coach, graduate of Poltava Polytechnic Vladyslav Oleksiienko and young football players presented the rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Onyshchenko with Christmas gifts – a ball and uniform of the “Shakhtar” football club, and the coach of the “Golden Eagle” football club Dmytro Palapa presented the rector with a scarf of his football club.
According to the results of the tournament, the winners of the competition were:
- I place – Sports Football School “Vorskla-1” team
- II place – Sports School “Poltava-1” team
- III place – FC “Golden Eagle-1” team
The best player of the tournament – Artur Ozhereliev, player of the Sports School “Vorskla” team
The best defender of the tournament – Yevhen Vats, player of FC “Golden Eagle” team
The best attacker of the tournament – Demid Kozub, player of the Sports School “Poltava” team
The best goalkeeper of the tournament – Kyrylo Mikheda, player of FC “Golden Eagle” team
Lady of football – Uliana Bezruchko, player of FC “Golden Eagle” team
The winners of the competition were awarded with cups and medals, and all the participants of the tournament received sweet gifts. On the eve of the Christmas holiday, fairy-tale characters – Lion and Hippo, who were sent by Santa Claus, came to Poltava Polytechnic to greet the participants of the competition.
Recently, Poltava Polytechnic hosted complex sports competitions among deputies and civil servants of the Poltava region.
