According to the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko, currently, the Ukrainian energy sector, more than ever, needs specialists, and the reconstruction of the energy sector of Ukraine using the latest technologies is possible if there are professionals with modern European education.

"Now, in the regime of massive attacks on energy facilities, we see that the professionalism of people is the most important thing. Today, the quality of work is directly related to the lives of both consumers, who receive the electricity and heating they need in winter, and the energy workers themselves, who have to carry out repairs under enemy fire. After our Victory, we will jointly rebuild the Ukrainian energy sector not according to the old Soviet models, but will use up-to-date approaches and technological solutions. Therefore, we need a different level of education for specialists who will be able to implement these modern solutions and work effectively with them.

The Ministry of Energy is ready to facilitate the coordination of such cooperation as much as possible. We are starting with the oil and gas sector, but all state energy companies, without exception, are ready to join cooperation with higher education institutions," – emphasized the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

The cooperation was initiated in order to improve the quality of educational services in the oil and gas sector and the development of the oil and gas industry in the following directions:

  • improvement of higher education standards and educational programs aimed at ensuring the training of qualified specialists for the needs of enterprises in the oil and gas industry of Ukraine;
  • implementation of joint projects, in particular, those ones regarding the use of adapted training courses of leading international specialized institutions of higher education on the basis of the university;
  • communication support of projects aimed at improving the quality of providing educational services in the oil and gas sector of Ukraine, and the development of the oil and gas industry;
  • ensuring the development of educational, scientific, scientific-technical and innovative activities of the institution of higher education, its integration with production;
  • development of proposals for professional standards by types of labor (professional) activity, professions and qualifications in the oil and gas industry;
  • organization and conduct of joint scientific research, educational and scientific events, forums, conferences, trainings, workshops, seminars and other events corresponding to the purpose of the Memorandum.

"Ukraine is in dire need of the latest technologies and specialists with modern education who are able to create a reliable system of energy independence and security.

In the conditions of war, in which the enemy is creating an energy crisis for the whole world, it is extremely important to cooperate with leading energy companies that are ready to work together with Ukrainian universities for the benefit of the country.
