The Executive Committee of the Poltava City Council has decided to award personalised scholarships to young scientists from higher education institutions and research institutions of Poltava, who successfully conduct research, carry out relevant scientific and technical developments and have achieved recognised results, and increase the achievements of the local community through academic activity.
Two young scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” became the scholarship holders of Poltava City Council:
- Alona Buriak – a Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Tourism;
- Anna Cherviak – Doctor of Philosophy, Academic Secretary of the University’s Academic Council.
The First Deputy Mayor Valerii Parkhomenko presented the young scientists with the Mayor’s Citations for their significant contribution to the development of the youth scientific potential of Poltava City Territorial Community, their active life position, high level of professionalism and promising research in the field of biological, natural, economic, legal, humanitarian and social sciences.
The scholarship holders were selected in pursuance of the decision of the extraordinary seventeenth session of the Poltava City Council of the eighth convocation of 05 October 2022 “On Approval of the New Version of the Regulation on the Procedure for Appointment and Payment of a Nominal Scholarship of the Poltava City Council to Young Scientists of Higher Education Institutions and Scientific Institutions of Poltava”, the decision of the thirty-ninth session of the Poltava City Council of the eighth convocation of 15 September 2023 “On Amendments and Additions to the Regulation on the Procedure for Appointing and Paying a Nominal Scholarship of the Poltava City Council to Young Scientists of Higher Education and Scientific Institutions of Poltava”, the decision of the extraordinary forty-sixth session of the Poltava City Council of the eighth convocation of 29 December 2023 “On the Budget of the Poltava City Territorial Community for 2024”, in accordance with the minutes of the meeting of the competition commission for determining scholarship holders for the Poltava City Council scholarship for young scientists of higher education institutions and scientific institutions of Poltava dated 19 June 2024 No. PR/01, guided by paragraph 9 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Basic Principles of Youth Policy” and part six of Article 59 of the Law of Ukraine “On Local Self-Government in Ukraine”.
According to the published decision of the Executive Committee of the Poltava City Council on the awarding and payment procedure of personalised scholarships, young scientists of higher education institutions in Poltava will receive scholarships from 1 January to 31 December 2024. The monthly amount of the scholarship for young scientists is UAH 2,500.
Recently, five scientists of Poltava Polytechnic were awarded with the Diplomas of Poltava Regional State Administration.
