The modern and technological company DTEK Oil&Gas is one of the largest taxpayers. Last year, it set up a record for production for all private gas production in Ukraine, and this year it is moving towards new record figures. DTEK’s oil and gas business is actively developing its technological ecosystem and attracting previously inaccessible global technologies to Ukraine to address today’s strategic technological challenges. Currently, the search for new technologies and solutions for business diversification, decarbonisation, hard-to-extract reserves development, and extension of the oil and gas fields’ lifecycle is relevant. DTEK Oil and Gas TechnoHub has been created and is actively developing for this purpose. In addition to attracting the latest technologies, TechnoHub’s tasks include the development of cooperation with leading companies, universities, research institutes, authorities and DTEK stakeholders.

Cooperation with international and local DTEK TechnoHub residents makes it possible to implement the boldest solutions and the latest technologies. Currently, the TechnoHub team is preparing for the introduction of unique technologies in the field of the oil and gas industry decarbonization, which Ukraine hasn’t seen before.

DTEK Oil&Gas has been cooperating with National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and a separate structural subdivision of the university – Poltava College of Oil and Gas for more than five years on the formula of success: “education-science-business-authority”. This is an important component of the company’s technological evolution, and for the university – the modernization of approaches to training professionals in the field and providing high quality educational services for future oil and gas industry employees. During this time, many joint educational and research projects have been implemented, including: opening new laboratories, conducting joint scientific and practical events, business events, conducting research, internships and joint implementation of the project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on dual education for specialists in the oil and gas system.

In addition to DTEK’s oil and gas business, another partner of the Polytechnic is Ukraine’s best corporate university, the Academy DTEK. Founded by DTEK 10 years ago for talent development, today the largest Ukrainian corporate university creates an educational ecosystem for the DTEK group of companies and Ukraine thanks to innovative approaches, non-standard formats in educational projects and best foreign practices. It is a powerful provider of training courses, training and programs not only for all DTEK business employees, but also for people outside the Group. This year, DTEK Oil&Gas and the Academy DTEK implemented a unique for Ukraine training program “Effective Leader: Pre-MBA”. This is an educational program for middle managers, fully customized to the needs and objectives of the oil and gas business.

Academy DTEK contributes to the goal of sustainable development to ensure fair quality education for everyone, as well as promotes the concept of lifelong learning.

Earlier, in 2019, research and teaching staff of Poltava Polytechnic underwent modular training in two areas – management and communication. Currently, Polytechnic modernizes and opens new educational programs for students and seeks to draw on the experience of the Academy in updating business needs and responding to modern demands for creating systems of assessment, training and continuous improvement of competencies, in particular for educational programs in “green” energy, decarbonisation, hydrogen economy.

Henceforth, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” has signed a trilateral Memorandum of Cooperation with DTEK Oil&Gas and the Academy DTEK and has become a new resident of DTEK Oil&Gas’s TechnoHub. The signing ceremony was attended by the Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Onyshchenko, DTEK Oil&Gas CEO Ihor Shchurov and Academy DTEK Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Inna Kozytska.

For Poltava Polytechnic, which is one of the five most environmentally friendly universities in Ukraine and a leader in education for the oil and gas industry, the DTEK Alley opening project and joining DTEK’s TechnoHub have become part of a strategy of partnering with business for sustainable development.

“The memorandum not only strengthens the previous years of our partnership with the university, but is also of great importance for further joint projects. DTEK Oil&Gas pays great attention to the continuous technological evolution of its business and is actively developing DTEK’s technology hub. TechnoHub is a window for attracting new technologies that are not available in Ukraine yet and developing a network of partnerships. As part of the Memorandum signed today, Poltava Polytechnic becomes another resident of DTEK’s TechnoHub,” pointed out Ihor Shchurov, DTEK Oil&Gas CEO.

“Opening the innovation platform, we are signing a trilateral agreement on scientific and educational cooperation and partnership with a long-term strategic partner – DTEK Oil&Gas and an innovative corporate university – the Academy DTEK. According to the decision of the Academic Council of the University, we are opening a new department and a new educational program in the field of “green” energy with a new, innovative approach to teaching. We are proud of our joint projects and high professional achievements that contribute to the formation of a positive image and thank for investing in the bright future of our country!” – stressed the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

“Fruitful cooperation of our company with the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” has become a good basis for our cooperation to become even deeper in terms of training and implementation of existing innovations. Analyzing the capabilities of Academy DTEK, I can say that we are currently creating a unique system for the DTEK Group and our partners, with whom we conclude similar memoranda based on new innovative approaches, excellent international experience and collaboration. Given the active position of all parties, we summarize – we have the technology, capabilities and huge potential! In my opinion, we will be able to successfully launch our own educational ideas and projects,” said Inna Kozytska, Academy DTEK Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
