On 1 October, at 9:00 a.m., the administration, academic staff and students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” joined the National Minute of Silence together with the whole country. All the participants listened to the speech of the President of Ukraine and paid tribute to the feat and heroic victory of our Heroes – the defenders of Ukraine, who are fighting for freedom, state sovereignty and territorial independence of our country in a fierce struggle against the enemy.
“Poltava Polytechnic is especially proud of its students, graduates and employees who stood up to defend our Motherland. Our university has a Department of Military Training, which trains future officers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and many of its graduates continue to fight for our common peaceful future today.
Unfortunately, the war brought losses. Our students and graduates are among the fallen heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine. We will never forget their feat and contribution to the freedom of our country. Their sacrifice will not be in vain, and their memory will forever remain in our hearts.
We all, each on our own front, are making efforts to win. Together, through education, science and technology, we are building a strong Ukraine, but it is our defenders who make this future possible,” – stated Rector of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
Students and teachers also join the National Minute of Silence during their classes, as Poltava Polytechnic keeps the bright memory of the fallen students and graduates alive.
Recently, in memory of the fallen defenders, Poltava Polytechnic hosted a regional sports and recreation event.
