Poltava Polytechnic is among the TOP-40 safest universities in Ukraine

The State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine formed a list of higher education institutions according to the degree of risk from conducting business activities in the field of higher education in 2023, analysing the activities of 290 Ukrainian higher education institutions.

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” entered the TOP-40 safest universities of Ukraine.

“The safety of the educational process and the provision of educational services consists not only in the physical protection of teachers and students, but also in the stability and professional management of the institution, even in the face of war. The first-year undergraduates of the Poltava Polytechnic made the right choice by choosing to study with us and cannot worry about whether they will receive a diploma in four years.

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was included in the TOP-40 safest Ukrainian universities among 290 higher education institutions. Only 26% of business entities in the field of higher education have an insignificant degree of risk.

A new risk-oriented approach in the control system is used to prevent possible violations of legal requirements.

Poltava Polytechnic successfully passed the examination of the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine and confirmed the status of a powerful international-level multidisciplinary university with a safe educational environment – the leader of scientific and educational activity in the Poltava region, the leading university of Ukraine and one of the best universities in Eastern Europe! We guarantee the graduate training of highly qualified specialists in almost 100 educational programs and open new specialties, increase the quality of education together with European experts, as well as the best stakeholders participate in the modernization of educational programs and promote the employment of our graduates. Each specialty is supported by a powerful material and technical base as well as a scientific and pedagogical team.

Poltava Polytechnic is a guarantee of success! We invite you to study!” – commented the rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

This year, the determination of the risk degree from conducting business activities in the field of higher education was introduced for the first time in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education, which allowed to evaluate each higher education institution as openly and objectively as possible and assign it to the appropriate degree of risk (module “Degrees of risk (for higher education)”). In this way, the process of calculating points according to the criteria determined by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated November 2, 2018 No. 982 “On the approval of the criteria by which the degree of risk from conducting business activities in the field of higher education is assessed and the periodicity of planned measures of state supervision (control) by the State Service of Education Quality is determined” was automated as much as possible:

  • the number of those receiving higher education in the last three years;
  • the number of scientific-pedagogical (pedagogical) workers employed by the main place of work;
  • the status of publication of legally defined documents and information on the official website of the higher education institution;
  • the number of violations of legislative requirements in the field of higher education, revealed as a result of state supervision (control) measures carried out during the last five years preceding the planning period;
  • the presence of separate structural subdivisions;
  • the presence of foreign students;
  • share of non-accredited specialties, educational programs.

The formation and publication of the higher education institutions list by degrees of risk is intended to make it possible to pay attention to the factors that increase the risks of conducting educational activities, and to take measures to prevent the increase in the number of points according to the relevant criteria.

The practice of applying risk criteria made it possible to stimulate higher education institutions to make their websites open and accessible to all participants in the educational process and the public.

It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic entered the ranking of the best European universities, is a leader in the web space among Poltava higher education institutions and joined the Bologna hub as well as improves the quality of education with the support of European experts.
