Poltava Polytechnic on the World Stage: Oksana Hordiienko is a silver medalist of the World Bench Press Championships

Oksana Hordiienko, Dean Deputy of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, won a silver medal at the World Bench Press Championships. This grand sporting event brought together more than 1500 athletes from 50 countries. The success of our athlete is the result of many years of work, professionalism and dedication to sports.

On 18-24 May 2025, the World Bench Press Championships among all age groups took place in Drammen, Norway, bringing together more than 1500 athletes from 50 countries. The world’s strongest athletes demonstrated endurance, skill and fortitude in an extremely competitive environment of the international arena.

Oksana Hordiienko, Dean Deputy of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy, became a real pride for Ukraine and our university. She won a silver medal at the World Championships, taking second place among women in the M1 age category.

Oksana Valeriivna is a Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in powerlifting, an International Category Referee, and, last but not least, a teacher and a mentor who daily shares her knowledge and experience with future professionals in the field of physical culture, rehabilitation and sports.

In conditions of strong competition and intense struggle, Oksana Hordiienko demonstrated brilliant technique, physical fitness and incredible will to win.

We congratulate Oksana Valeriivna on her brilliant result and wish her new sporting achievements, inspiration in her teaching and good health!

It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic team won the Ukrainian Table Tennis Club Championship among the men's teams of the Major League.
