On 1-3 June 2025, the European Armwrestling Championship was held in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). The strongest athletes of the continent took part in the competition, among them the athletes of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” performed well.
The students of Poltava Polytechnic demonstrated high level of training and endurance, winning the 3rd place in their weight categories. Perseverance, strength of mind and physical power allowed the university athletes to confidently complete the difficult qualifying rounds and win a well-deserved award – the bronze medals of the European Championship.
The medalists of the European Armwrestling Championship were:
- Stanislav Yefymenko, a student of 101-FS group of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Veronika Hrechana, a student of 201-FS group of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.


The administration and staff of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” sincerely congratulate the athletes from Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports on such impressive results and express their gratitude to Artem Pysmak, Honored Coach of Ukraine in Armwrestling, a graduate of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic in 2020, a coach of the international competitions' winners, who properly trained the athletes for the European Championships. These achievements once again confirm the high level of student sports training at Poltava Polytechnic and inspire young people to take an active part in sports life.
It should be recalled that Dean Deputy of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Oksana Hordiienko won the silver medal at the World Bench Press Championships.
