On May 27, the competitions of the XVIII Universiade of the Poltava Region in weightlifting ended. Athletes of the kettlebell section – students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – became active participants of the Universiade, winning the first overall team place among the seven participating teams by demonstrating good results in confrontations with experienced opponents.
Poltava Polytechnic team was represented at the competition by:
- Oleksandr Tsybulko, student of group 202-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, weight category 78 kg;
- Oleksandr Svyrydenko, student of group 202-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, weight category 68 kg;
- Anton Chuiko, student of group 102-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, weight category 73 kg;
- Yelyzaveta Myrna, student of group 202-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, weight category 63 kg;
- Vitalii Yavtushenko, student of group 101-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, weight category 95 kg.
The winners and prize-winners of the competition are awarded honourable Diplomas as well as gold, silver and bronze medals.

Earlier, Poltava Polytechnic team became the champion of the XVIII Men’s Beach Volleyball Universiade of Poltava region, the student of the FPCS won the full set of awards of the Cup of Ukraine in rowing on the Dragon boats, and the student of the FPCS Yehor Mychko won silver award of the Youth Triathlon Championship of Ukraine.
