On May 20-21, 2023, in the capital billiards club “Leader” the competition of individual and team Cup of Ukraine among scientific and pedagogical representatives of HEI in billiards “Free Pyramid” took place. More than 60 teachers from 20 higher education institutions took part in the competition.
Among the main tasks of the tournament are popularising the development and promotion of billiards among scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions of Ukraine, attracting teachers and scientists to regular sports activities and helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine with charitable contributions of the participants.
The team of scientific and pedagogical workers of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was represented at the competition by the Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine in sports billiards, the Head of the Separate Subdivision “Sports Billiards Federation of Ukraine in the Poltava Region”, the teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Poltava Polytechnic Anastasiia Kovalenko, senior teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the university Tetiana Yopa, Serhii Kropyvnytskyi and Mkrtich Akopian.
According to the results of the tournament, Poltava Polytechnic took second place in the overall team standings, and in the ranking for 2023 among higher education institutions of Ukraine – the second overall team place, having scored 921 points.
In the individual championship, Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine in sports billiards, teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Poltava Polytechnic Anastasiia Kovalenko became the winner of the Cup of Ukraine in free pyramid among the HEI of Ukraine.

It should be recalled that the university invites you to take part in mock creative competitions that will take place on the basis of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, and the Sports Billiards Club of the Polytechnic invites you to train with the Honoured Master of Sports of Ukraine Anastasiia Kovalenko.
Previously, Polytechnic team became the champion of the XVIII Men’s Beach Volleyball Universiade of Poltava region, a student of the FPCS won a full set of awards of the Cup of Ukraine in rowing on the Dragon boats, a student of the FPCS Yehor Mychko won the silver award of the Championship of Ukraine in triathlon among young people, Polytechnic cheerleaders became the gold medallists of the XVII Championship of Ukraine among pupils and students, FPCS student Andrii Nazimov became the bronze medallist of the VI Open European Kyokushin Karate Championship among children, youth, juniors and adults, and female Polytechnic athletes became gold and silver medallists of the European Powerlifting Championship.
