Poltava rescuers conduct object training on fire safety in the campus

Employees of the Poltava District Administration’s Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Poltava region conducted special facility training on fire safety and civil defence for the residents of the student campus of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

On October 5, on the territory of the student campus of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, employees of the Poltava District Administration’s Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Poltava region and the 1st state fire and rescue unit, with the full support of the administration of the Poltava Polytechnic, conducted a special facility training for residents on issues fire safety and civil protection.

During the training, the rescuers worked out with the residents of the dorms the algorithm of actions after the signal “Attention everyone! Air raid alert!” and rules of conduct during storage in case of emergencies.

Specialists of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine also explained to those present the sequence of their actions when detecting suspicious or explosive objects, reminded the main reasons for the occurrence of fires in premises. After that, the rescuers, together with the staff of the dormitories and students, practiced the use of primary fire extinguishing equipment.

It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic has installed a modern fire alarm system, and the university administration took care of accommodating students in comfortable dormitories.

Previously, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine developed recommendations for shelter organization, last year students learned how to act correctly in emergency situations, and court guards together with police officers conducted training on first aid and safety basics at the Polytechnic.
