Polytechnic athletes become gold and bronze medallists of the Championship of Ukraine among HEI students in kettlebell sports

Students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports and the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” became the gold and bronze medallists of the Championship of Ukraine among HEI [higher education institutions] students in kettlebell sports, which was held in the capital. The athletes of the Poltava Polytechnic won the prizes, having demonstrated excellent results in confrontations.

Polytechnic athletes become gold and bronze medallists of the Championship of Ukraine among HEI students in kettlebell sports

On April 29-30, the Championship of Ukraine among HEI students in kettlebell sports was held in the city of Kyiv, in which 89 sportsmen and 41 sportswomen from six regions of our country, representing 17 educational institutions of Ukraine, took part. The participants performed lifting weights in a jerk with arbitrarily changing hands.

Athletes of the kettlebell section – students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports and the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – became active participants in the Championship, winning prizes, demonstrating good results in confrontations with experienced opponents.

The Poltava region team was represented at the competition by:

  • Oleksandr Svyrydenko, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in kettlebell sports;
  • Yelyzaveta Myrna, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell sports;
  • Anton Chuiko, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of Ukraine;
  • Oleksandr Tsybulko, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic;
  • Vitalii Yavtushenko, student of group 101-TT of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics of the Poltava Polytechnic.

Athletes of Poltava Polytechnic performed well at prestigious competitions and won gold and bronze awards of the tournament when performing exercise P12, in particular:

  • Oleksandr Svyrydenko became a gold medallist in the weight category of 68 kg;

  • Anton Chuiko won the gold medal in the weight category of 73 kg;

  • Yelyzaveta Myrna won the gold medal in the weight category of 63 kg;

  • Oleksandr Tsybulko won a bronze medal in the weight category of 78 kg;

  • Vitalii Yavtushenko became the bronze medallist of the competition in the weight category of 95 kg.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition are awarded Honourable Diplomas as well as gold, silver and bronze medals.

Recently, on the International Day of Dance, the All-Ukrainian Sports Dance Competition “Cup of the Rector of the Poltava Polytechnic” was held.

Previously, Polytechnic athletes became the gold medallists of the European Championship in kettlebell sports among juniors and adults, the first-year FPCS student Yehor Mychko became the silver medallist of the Championship of Ukraine in triathlon among youth, Polytechnic student Volodymyr Lytvyn became the silver medallist of the Championship of Ukraine in arm wrestling among youth, adults and veterans, second-year student Mykhailo Serdiuk became a silver medallist of the Muay Thai Boxing Championship of Ukraine among adults, FPCS student Ruslana Symonenko became a four-time gold medallist of the Ukrainian Armwrestling Championship among youth, adults and veterans, and a table tennis tournament among pupils and students was held at the Polytechnic.
