Polytechnic athletes win the Open Cup of the Poltava region in classical powerlifting

The picked team of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” successfully performed at the Open Cup of the Poltava Region in classic powerlifting and classic bench press. Polytechnic athletes became gold and bronze medalists in the absolute majority among men and women.

Polytechnic athletes win the Open Cup of the Poltava region in classical powerlifting

The picked team of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, which consisted of students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy, the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas, successfully performed at the Open Cup of the Poltava Region in classic powerlifting and classic bench press among men and women. The athletes of the Poltava Polytechnic demonstrated high results and replenished their treasury of sports trophies with gold and bronze awards.

The gold medalists of the Open Cup of the Poltava Region in classic powerlifting and classic bench press among men and women were:

  • student of group 101-B of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Ivan Kryha;
  • student of group 301-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Anastasiia Taran;
  • student of group 101-pFR of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Olha Pavlii;

  • student of group 301-NH of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, world champion in powerlifting among junior girls Dariia Holovko;
  • student of group 101-FR of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Valeriia Koniukhova;
  • student of group 201-FP of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oleksandr Shubin.

Bronze awards of prestigious sports competitions were won by:

  • student of group 101-B of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Ivan Kryha;
  • student of group 202-NH of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Ivan Zhuravliov.

The athletes were trained by an experienced coach, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in powerlifting, silver medalist of the European Championships in classical bench press among women, senior teacher of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Oksana Hordiienko, whose disciples repeatedly became champions of Ukraine, Europe and the world, prize-winners of prestigious international competitions and tournaments, and Polytechnic student Dariia Holovko, under her guidance, became the world champion in powerlifting among juniors. The experienced coach also won the Open Cup of the Poltava region in the classic bench press competition with her own record of 80 kg.

Recently, Polytechnic students became volunteers and participants in the “Autumn RUN – 2022” marathon, and the Poltava Polytechnic held a regional chess championship among employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

Earlier, the Polytechnic team became the champion of the 18th Universiade of the Poltava Region in volleyball, and the Polytechnic teacher won the bronze medal of the Ukrainian Karate Championship among adults.
