The educational and methodological fund of the Department of Fine Arts of the Faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” has been replenished with rare and extremely interesting books on the study of art and art history. Professor of the American Nobel International University, member of the International Federation of Artists under UNESCO (since 1998), member of the Federation of Canadian Artists Volodymyr Bondarenko presented the department with a collection of English-language art history literature from American and European publishers.

A native of Poltava, a graduate of the Poltava Polytechnic (Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management) has been living abroad for a long time, but he remembers his alma mater and his hometown, which he calls the heart of Ukraine. The gift was sent from Canada.

The literary selection includes 34 English-language books on basic art history, art history, special editions dedicated to individual artists, secrets of European museums and issues of forgery of works of art, etc. – from rare vintage editions to modern popular science literature.

According to Candidate of Art History, Head of the Department of Fine Arts of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Tetiana Zinenko one of the iconic books from the selection is “The Renaissance Era” from 1968, edition with a dust cover edited by Denis Hay, a British historian who specialized in the eras of the Middle Ages as well as the Renaissance in Europe, and is known for researching the influence of Italy on historical events in Europe, as well as for his work on a team of military historians under the British Cabinet, created at the initiative of Winston Churchill.

“We are committed to providing quality art education and these books contain very valuable professional information as well as quality reproductions of famous and lesser known works from around the world. From now on, students have the opportunity to compare the views of different authors on famous art pieces. And the fact that the books are in English gives both students and teachers an additional opportunity to practically improve their knowledge of a foreign language. Students are very satisfied that the method fund of our department has been replenished with such interesting publications,” – said the Head of the Department Tetiana Zinenko.

Earlier, the American artist presented the Department of Fine Arts with a collection of art publications.
