The 2024 Paralympic Games are underway in France, where the representatives of the Ukrainian national team, including the athletes from the Poltava region, are showing good results.
A graduate of speciality 017 Physical Culture and Sports of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yevhenii Bohodaiko won a bronze medal in the 100-metre breaststroke competition in SB6 class.
“It was a tough struggle up to the last metre. It was very hard for me, I don’t know anything about my opponents, I can’t say anything. The atmosphere is very cool, you can feel the tremendous support for our country. I catch a glimpse of the tribune, a lot of our flags. It inspires and motivates me a lot. I am grateful to all the people who are rooting for us,” – said the athlete in an interview with Suspilne Sport.
It should be noted that Paralympics 2024 is the fourth Paralympic Games in his sports career for a graduate of Poltava Polytechnic Yevhenii Bohodaiiko. In total, the athlete has won Paralympic gold six times, silver medals five times and bronze medals three times.
This year’s bronze medal is the second award for the Poltava resident at the Paralympics, after Yevhenii Bogodaiko finished third in the 200m freestyle.

It should be recalled that students of Poltava Polytechnic became gold and bronze medallists of Paralympics 2024.
