From June, 2 to June, 5, and from June, 8 to June, 12, the scientists improved their skills on using the Web Of Science platform which is intended for formal evaluation of scientific activity results and includes certain scientometric indicators.
In particular, the Web Of Science allows to determine the number of documents published by a scientist, an establishment, a country, the number of quotations and the editions they were made in, and automatically calculate the h-index and average quotation rate. There are also tools to help determine how these data look in comparison with average world levels, and whether the works are quoted more often, what kinds of cooperation are more successful, what establishments are more productive and efficient in joint projects realization, why a certain establishment has better scores, what experiences should be borrowed etc.
The organizers of the webinars were the Clarivate Analytics Company. Iryna Tykhonova, an expert in informational and analytic sources and teaching of the company, became the lecturer for the course. Registered participants could receive certificates after meeting the main requirement, that is to be present at 90% of the lectures.
Online classes were held in such topics as:
- - The possibilities of the InCities analytical tool;
- - What will we see in the new interface of the Web Of Science Core Collection;
- - The criteria and procedure of gathering the publications for the Web Of Science Core Collection;
- - The account of an establishment in the Web Of Science: how to create, edit and use it;
- - Publications in international editions.

It is very important because our university is a leader in scientific activity in Ukraine, and our academic personnel are actively working on new designs and publications,” Director of ERIAC Oleksandr Zyma commented.
Web Of Science is a platform which includes databases of scientific literature and patents, covers materials in natural, technical, biological, social, humanitarian sciences and art. Central in the platform is the scientometric international database Web of Science Core Collection WoS (CC) which includes more than 18,000 leading journals.
