Polytechnic student becomes a bronze medallist in the third stage of the XXV Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition

A student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management Anastasiia Sokolova won the honourable bronze medal in the third (regional) stage of the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition.

On 9 February 2025, the third (regional) stage of the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition was held at Poltava Academy of Continuing Education named after M.V. Ostrohradskyi, where students of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Poltava State Medical University, Poltava State Agrarian University, Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V.H. Korolenko demonstrated their excellent knowledge of the native language and literature, different branches of linguistics.

The competition tasks took into account the participants’ versatile erudition, development of imaginative thinking and ability to express their own opinions, and the jury members noted the high level of the contestants’ creative works. The participants demonstrated knowledge of various areas of linguistics, creativity and excellent command of the literary word.

A student of Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Land Management of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Anastasiia Sokolova took the third place in the regional stage of the XXV Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition. The winner was mentored by Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation Svitlana Doroshenko.

The competition is held in pursuance of Presidential Decrees No. 1078 of 9 November 2007 “On the Petro Yatsyk International Ukrainian Language Competition” and No. 1155 of 28 November 2007 “On certain measures to enhance the role of the Ukrainian language”.

The aim of the competition is to promote the status of the Ukrainian language as the state language, to raise its prestige, and to foster respect for the language of their people among the younger generation of Ukrainians.

We sincerely wish Anastasiia new intellectual and creative achievements in the All-Ukrainian stage of the contest!

It should be recalled that the administration of Poltava Polytechnic made a socially responsible decision not to raise the tuition fee in 2025.
