Polytechnic students become volunteers and participants in the "Autumn RUN-2022" marathon

Students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" became volunteers and participants of the marathon "Autumn RUN-2022", organized by the Poltava Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population "Sports for All" with the assistance of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava Regional Military Administration.

On November 12, the "Autumn RUN-2022" marathon was held on the territory of the Poltava City Park of Culture and Recreation "Peremoha", organized by the Poltava Regional Center of Physical Health of the Population "Sports for All" with the assistance of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava Regional Military Administration. According to the acting director of the Poltava Regional Center "Sports for All" Oleksandr Ivanov, everyone who wanted to, even children from 8 years of age, could join the sports and recreational activities for free. Online registration for the large-scale sports event was available until November 9. The youngest participants covered a distance of 500 meters, adults – 1.3 and 5 kilometers.

Students of specialty 227 "Physical therapy, ergotherapy" of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", together with teachers and Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, became volunteers of the sports marathon and joined the popularization of a healthy way of life. Also, students of specialty 017 "Physical Culture and Sports" of Poltava Polytechnic took part in races at a distance of 3 and 5 kilometers.

"Student youth of the Poltava Polytechnic is actively involved in popularizing a healthy lifestyle and physical activity, the university has created favorable conditions for practicing any sports and training future champions. Today's marathon was no exception, future specialists in physical therapy and ergotherapy gladly responded and provided volunteer assistance during the sports event. This is our joint contribution to the development of youth sports, the education of new generations of healthy Ukrainians," – commented Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Lina Rybalko.

Despite wartime and active hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, a series of health and sports events, tournaments of various sports activities are constantly held for the residents of Poltava and guests of the city, everyone can choose a sports location to their liking. According to the organizers of the marathon, sports positively motivate students and young people to promote a healthy lifestyle and become an example for relatives, friends, and peers.

"We recently held a volleyball competition among girls' teams, a "Battle of Generations" tournament for young people and seniors, as well as training within the framework of the Presidential social project "Active parks – locations of a healthy Ukraine," – commented head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin.

"We are now trying to hold as many events as possible for children and adults in order to psychologically support them," – adds the acting director of the Poltava Regional Center "Sports for All" Oleksandr Ivanov.

Recently, the Polytechnic team became the champion of the XVIII Universiade of Poltava region in volleyball, the Polytechnic teacher won the bronze medal of the Ukrainian Karate Championships among adults, three Polytechnic athletes became prize-winners of the Championship and the European Cup in kettlebell sports, and Ivan Mai, a graduate of the Polytechnic, became the world champion in table tennis among athletes – Paralympians.
