From November 1 to 3, 2022, the sports billiards club of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted the “Free Pyramid” sports billiards competition among students of the Poltava Polytechnic.
The official opening of the competition was attended by: Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates Mkrtych Akopian, and organizer of the competition, senior teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Tetiana Yopa. During the opening of the competition, a minute of silence was observed in honor of those who died as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine.
“National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is a center for the development of student and schoolchildren sports in the Poltava region. University Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko is the head of the Sports Student Union of Ukraine in the Poltava Region and the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports in the Poltava Region.
Various types of sports are actively developing at the Poltava Polytechnic, the university has 17 sports sections, including a billiards one. Every week, both students and teachers train at the base of the sports billiards club. Volodymyr Onyshchenko’s Cup of the Rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is held annually.
Poltava Polytechnic Sports Billiards Club hospitably welcomes the participants of the All-Ukrainian Sports Billiards Competition among pupils, students and academic workers,” – noted Lina Rybalko.
Chief judge Serhii Kropyvnytskyi introduced the conditions of the competition.
12 students took part in the university competitions – participants of the sports billiards section of the Poltava Polytechnic.
According to the results of the competition, the winners were:
- I place – Oleh Barannik, student of group 101-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- II place – Ivan Arestov, student of group 501-FM of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law;
- III place – Dmytro Lebid, student of group 501-TN of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics.
The winners of the competition were awarded cups and diplomas, and all the participants of the tournament received sweet gifts.
Poltava Polytechnic recently hosted the Poltava Region Youth Boxing Championship and the Ukrainian Military Sports All-Around Championship.
It should be recalled that Polytechnic athlete won a silver medal at the Championship of the Poltava region in freestyle wrestling among cadets, freshman Vladyslav Shavyro won a gold medal at the Open Taekwondo Tournament “Pokalturnier Bretten”, and Polytechnic athletes became prize-winners of the All-Ukrainian kettlebell tournament.
