From November 21 to 29, 2022, five students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – Yaroslav Perederii, Oleksa and Omelian Shchur-Dunets, Ruslana Borodai and Viktoriia Vakula were online participants of the School of Charity and received certificates of successful completion of their studies.
According to the organizers, the National Bank started organizing educational events on the topic of charity within the framework of the worldwide initiative “Giving Tuesday” – an international charity movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people around the world to do good. The “School of Charity” project is about how to help effectively and with maximum benefit. The participants learned how to organize a charity project in an educational institution, do good deeds from representatives of charitable foundations, learned about interesting cases of charity projects from teachers of educational institutions and the basics of financial literacy during charity events from experts of the National Bank.
The participants noted project’s cognitive and motivating effect.
“The School of Charity helped me learn more about volunteering in all its forms. Representatives of many organizations shared their thoughts, experiences, and ideas, and this quite inspires fruitful work for the sake of victory and fills with energy everyone who gives a smile and warm moments to those who need it. All of the speakers’ speeches were full of information, so I am grateful to the School for the knowledge gained and the time spent usefully!” – shared her impressions Victoriia Vakula.
“For me, the School of Charity opened up new interesting methods of working in different directions, and I was very impressed that there were many current topics that are very important now. I am grateful to the organizing team for such an interesting project and the opportunity to learn something else, as studying in Ukraine is prestigious and interesting,” – said Yaroslav Perederii.
“I had the honor to be a participant of the online School of Charity and the Marathon of Good Deeds project. During the event, the speakers shared their achievements in the organization and implementation of charity projects. For myself, I discovered new areas of charitable activity, such as: helping people with disabilities, work on the protection of wildlife and protected areas, work of public environmental organizations, help to elderly people, help to homeless animals. I am grateful to the School for the received inspiration for creative ideas, for creating good deeds that benefit society,” – added Omelian Shchur-Dunets.
In December 2022, the National Bank of Ukraine together with its partners invited educational institutions to join the Marathon of Good Deeds. At the end of the last month of the year, the students volunteers of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” presented the activities of the Volunteer Headquarters – only in December they had time to make nets, trench candles, small stoves, collect funds for the needs of the military, held three thank-you concerts for the military, met with city’s schoolchildren and shared their volunteer experience with students, held a charity concert on the occasion of University Day to support scientific and pedagogical workers, joined the organization of the “Winter Waltz” charity event, organized a New Year's holiday for the children of IDPs.
It should be recalled that on the occasion of the International Volunteer Day, the rector awarded the volunteers of the Poltava Polytechnic with Honorable Diplomas.
