On January 21, on the eve of the Day of Unity of Ukraine, students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, representatives of students’ self-government led by the President of the Student Parliament Liudmyla Bylym took part in the celebrations at the Poltava Regional Philharmonic.

Kateryna Ryzhechenko, Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, and Oleksii Chepurko, Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Council, congratulated everyone on this significant date in every Ukrainian’s life.

“For each of us, January 22 is a special holiday, one of the most important events in the formation of Ukrainian statehood – the unification of the West Ukrainian National Republic and the Ukrainian National Republic. As history shows, unfortunately, despite all the predictions and prospects for the revival of Ukrainian statehood, back in 1919 it was the ambitions of some politicians that prevented the restoration of historical justice. The Ukrainian state has faced many challenges over its long history, but we have realized the most important thing – the strength of the nation in our unity, we are strong when united,” – noted in her speech Deputy Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Kateryna Ryzhechenko.

According to Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Council Oleksii Chepurko, the Day of Unity of Ukraine is one of those unchanging things that can be safely considered conceptual: “Every politician, every citizen of our state should think about unity, concord, defending state interests, inviolability of borders. Therefore, I express my sincere gratitude to all Poltava residents for the great personal contribution you make to the development of our town, our state. I warmly support the courageous daughters and sons of Ukraine, who are today defending its borders and increasing faith to build a better future. I wish you harmony, welfare and prosperity!”

During the festivities, a galaxy of scientists, public and cultural figures were presented with state awards and honorary decorations of the Poltava Regional State Administration and the Poltava Regional Council.
