On March 1, the sports base of the Poltava State Medical University hosted the XVIII Universiade of Poltava region in 3*3 basketball among teams of higher education institutions of the city of Poltava. Student teams of higher education institutions of Poltava zealously competed for the main sports trophy. The chief judge of the competition was Yurii Knysh.
The men's and women's team of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" under the leadership of experienced coach Oleksandr Rybalko and senior teacher of the Department of Physical Education, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Master of Sports in Athletics Ruslan Zhalii won the absolute championship of the XVIII Universiade of Poltava region in 3*3 basketball among the teams of higher education institutions of the city of Poltava. Sportsmen and sportswomen of the Poltava Polytechnic demonstrated excellent physical fitness, a high level of training and well-coordinated team play on the basketball court.
According to the results of the XVIII Universiade of Poltava region in 3*3 basketball among the teams of higher education institutions of the city of Poltava, the top three were:
- the team of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic";
- team of Poltava University of Economics and Trade;
- team of Poltava State Medical University.
The Poltava State Agrarian University team also became an active participant of the Universiade.

It should be recalled that the Poltava Polytechnic team won the All-Ukrainian sports billiards competition "Free Pyramid".
Earlier, the WAKO Kickboxing Championships of the Poltava Region was held at the Polytechnic, the Polytechnic student Dariia Holovko became the champion of Ukraine and the absolute bronze champion in powerlifting according to the IPF formula among female juniors, the student of FPCS Valeriia Koniukhova became the champion of Ukraine in powerlifting among girls.
