To evaluate the impact of big, medium and small businesses in the fight with the pandemic, CSR Ukraine gathered youth from all around Ukraine for an online Network-A-Thon “Business and Society”. The teams worked online at the Zoom platform and were given 7 hours to find the cases of Ukrainian companies of both regional and national levels who joined Covid-19 counteraction in all the available and checked resources. The counteraction they looked for included sending money to help medical workers and hospitals, supporting their workers and socially unprotected parts of the society.

“The youth has to understand what is socially responsible business. That’s why we offered them to form the Catalogue of Business Impact in the Fight with Covid-19. As a result, 6 teams collected 320 practices of companies totaling in more than 900,000,000 UAH. It’s important that the Catalogue will include the actions of both national and regional companies,” the Head of CSR Ukraine Maryna Saprykina commented. By the way, last year she delivered an open lecture and told the students of our university about the companies which are changing Ukraine.

The post-graduate student of Education and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Kateryna Chelembiienko was given the third place together with her team. The team members were Kateryna Chelembiienko, Maksym Zinko, Karina Hushpit, Iryna Zhurakivska and Yelyzaveta Ochkas.

To honor the active participation in the Network-A-Thon for Youth “Business and Society” within the SDG Ambassadors Program and the great input into creating the general Catalogue of businesses who are socially responsible during the Covid-19 pandemics, the participants were awarded certificates.

The companies in the catalogue are listed in alphabetical order. Every practice has a link to the official sources, the catalogue mentions the kind of help (charitable financial help, programs of socially vulnerable people support etc), the level of support (national, regional, local). Soon the list will be published on the website of CSR Ukraine and any company will be able to submit the information about their impact in fighting the Covid-19.

Congratulations to the winner! We wish you new creative business projects!
