As part of a working visit to Poland, the rector of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko visited the largest polytechnic university in northeastern Poland – Bialystok University of Technology, which has been a partner university of Poltava Polytechnic for more than eight years and in the first days of the russian attack was one of the first to express its support.
On the eve of the beginning of the new academic year at the Bialystok University of Technology, the rectors discussed the current state of implementation of the agreement "Technical Education for the Future of Europe" signed in 2014 between higher technical education institutions of Ukraine and Poland, as well as new opportunities for studying for Poltava Polytechnic students and the principles of cooperation.
"In the event of an unprecedented attack suffered by the entire Ukrainian people, we will do everything to ensure that students from Ukraine, including Poltava Polytechnic ones, can continue their studies, if necessary, at the relevant departments of the Bialystok University of Technology," – emphasized the rector of the Bialystok University of Technology, Professor Marta Kosior-Kazberuk.
The rectors noted that despite the tough time in Ukraine, it is difficult to overestimate the productivity and importance of direct working meetings.
"My Motherland is in an extremely difficult situation, we are grateful to the Poles, and especially to the team of the Bialystok University of Technology for the invaluable support that you have been provided and continue to provide from the first minutes of the russian aggression," – said the rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
An English-language mobility program for civil engineers has been successfully implemented between universities. The experience accumulated during its implementation became the basis for the creation of a dual diploma program in the specialty 192 "Construction and Civil Engineering" and the implementation of a master's program for students-logisticians. It was thanks to cooperation with the Bialystok University of Technology that the teaching of the Polish language was started at the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".
It should be recalled that the Rector of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Bialystok University of Technology, and during the Polish-Ukrainian rector's seminar he presented the successful experience of cooperation with Polish universities and the policy of supporting young scientists.
