Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko became a speaker of the VI International Industry Forum “Production. Well Stimulation. Well Workover” with a presentation called “Scientific Potential as a Factor of Exploration and Production Efficiency Enhancement”. Successful cases gathered by university over the years of cooperation with business illustrated the opportunities opened for the business.
The priorities of university’s activity include cooperation in science with the leading Ukrainian oil and gas production and service companies, creation of opportunities for improving the effectiveness of oil and gas specialists’ practical training, and the formation of modern youth’s scientific potential.
“The development of hydrocarbons production industry is greatly dependent on the integration of modern production technology, innovations and scientific potential, which is one of the main factors for the realization of strategic industry tasks and the guarantee of its competitiveness.
“The realization of the model Education+Science+Business+Government is a key to success and a mutually beneficial formula of partnership between National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and oil and gas companies. Over the last few years, our university has turned into a place for communication of oil and gas industry representatives. The organization of joined industry forums with the Engineering Center Poltava and the realization of productive conversation of the representatives of scientific community, education, business and government structures contribute to the development greatly.
“Holding the VI International Industry Forum “Production. Well Stimulation. Well Workover” with the top-managers of partner companies at polytechnic is a proof to the fact that university has become an effective platform for constructive discussion of strategic tasks for oil and gas industry development. Another tradition is the presentation and opening of new unique laboratories created in cooperation with business for ensuring the effective training of specialists with high professional competences and for having classes on a new level,” Volodymyr Onyshchenko, Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” said.
The participation of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in the associations representing the interests of oil and gas companies at the highest, state level is an example of the multi-vector nature of the cooperation of polytechnic with the representatives of business. The companies “Horyzonty”, Weatherford Ukraine, Newfolk OGCC and Burova Tekhnika STE became the founders of the Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine. The main goal of the Association is the development of a positive image of Ukrainian oil and gas service market among the international partners and prospective investors.
“With every passing year, the business connections of our university with leading Ukrainian companies have been developing dynamically in different directions, such as enhancement of university facilities, organization of further education courses for specialists at polytechnic, meetings with the top-managers and leading specialists of the industry. The cooperation makes for improvements in educational programs, the introduction of dual education, and the students’ knowledge and professionalism are evaluated with an independent testing system. The solution of the modernization problems and the provision of innovative development in the industry depends on the development of science, too. That is why the organization of scientific and research work in the interests of companies is one of the most important vectors of university’s cooperation with companies.
“Last year we supported the suggestion of the Director General of DTEK Oil&Gas Ihor Shchurov on creating a high-tech oil and gas hub as an effective instrument for attracting new technologies to Ukraine, where new tendencies of industry development would accumulate and a platform for solving complicated cases of oil and gas production companies would be created.
“To create and develop the intellectual potential of scientists at university, the Education and Production Center of Oil and Gas was opened headed by Petro Holub, PhD in Engineering, who has a rich experience of scientific research for companies.
“The center included the laboratory of drilling muds and cleansing liquids of DTEK Oil&Gas, the chemistry laboratory, the educational and scientific oil and gas field. Such a center will allow for performing research of natural gas, oil, condensate, oil products, ground formations and waters for companies. The main fields of activity of the Center include performing research on well stimulation, hydrate formation and search for new inhibitors, technologies with application of drilling mud cuttings for construction and other purposes, and monitoring of environment.
“Our university is ready for further development of strategic partnership between education, science, business and government, as a powerful innovation center,” Rector of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Onyshchenko emphasized.
