On February 16, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Ecology and Nature Management of Poltava Polytechnic Oksana Illiash conducted a webinar course on professional development for local self-government representatives at the Poltava Regional Center for Professional Development.
In her report “National and regional guidelines and practical recommendations for the implementation of solid waste management strategy for local self-governments bodies” the scholar revealed the main issues related to the “National Waste Management Strategy in Ukraine until 2030”, explained the concept of general and special measures of the Strategy (general measures relate to the field of waste management in general, special measures – to the field of management of specific types of waste).The main goal of the Strategy is to form an effective system of solid waste management.
Oksana Illiash also presented step-by-step instructions to community representatives on the implementation of local waste management strategies that they will be able to use in their future activities.
Previously, Polytechnic scientists took part in the III International Symposium “Sustainable Development – the State and Prospects”, presented a regional strategy for sustainable use of nature in the context of sustainable development, presented modern technologies to overcome environmental problems and named eco-professions of the future.
