Scientists are to have access to the laboratories of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has announced 8 calls for access to research infrastructure for scientists from academic and research organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises of the public and private sectors.

Scientists are to have access to the laboratories of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre

The European Commission's Joint Research Center (JRC) offers access to its non-nuclear facilities to researchers and scientists from the Member States of the European Union and countries associated with the EU's Horizon Europe research program. EU member states and countries associated with the Euratom research program will have access to nuclear facilities.

Providing visiting researchers with access to its laboratories and equipment is part of the JRC's strategy to:

  • promoting the dissemination of scientific knowledge;
  • increasing competitiveness;
  • bridging the gap between research and industry;
  • providing training and professional development for scientists.

Scientists will have the opportunity to work in the following areas:

  • nuclear safety and protection (Euratom Laboratories);
  • chemistry;
  • biosciences/life sciences;
  • physical sciences;
  • information and communication technologies;
  • other scientific fields.

The results will also be important for the development of European Union policies.

For more information on the groups of research infrastructures to which access will be granted, the terms and conditions and the criteria of the calls, please visit the Open access to JRC Research Infrastructures webpage (europa.eu).
