Finance, Banking and Taxation Department of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” organized and held the II International Conference “The Development of Financial Market in Ukraine: Risks, Problems and Perspectives”. This year, the event was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of our university. Due to the lockdown, the conference was held online.
In total, 95 scientists from more than 30 institutions and establishments of 9 regions of Ukraine, Poland, Croatia, Georgia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as the representatives of various financial companies and state administration bodies.
The plenary meeting of the conference was opened by Svitlana Sivitska, PhD in Economics, Vice Rector for Scientific and International Affairs of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”: “Holding conferences on these relevant topics has become a great tradition of Finance, Banking and Taxation Department in cooperation with the state government bodies, financial establishments and leading universities from Ukraine and abroad. Combining the interests of government, business and science ensures the practical relevancy of the conference and allows to constructively discuss the problems of Ukrainian financial market and determining the ways of solving them. We hope that this year the conference will be just as interesting to the government and business as it was previously, and that the participants’ suggestions will find practical implementation.”
The meeting was moderated by Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of Finance, Banking and Taxation Department of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Liana Ptashchenko.
The main thematic fields of the conference were as follows:
- The relevant problems and perspectives of the financial market development: the world experience and the Ukrainian realia;
- Ensuring the financial security of Ukraine in modern economic conditions;
- The modern tendencies and directions of the monetary market in Ukraine;
- The management of financial enterprises: theoretical and practical problems;
- The problems of audit and taxation of enterprise activity.
The participants of the conference were greeted by the international partners from Bialystok University of Technology (Poland), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (Georgia), and Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University (Belarus). Iryna Chernysh, Doctor of Economics, Director of Education and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” also greeted the participants and thanked them for active cooperation in the conference and wished them fruitful work in the future.
The report “The Actuality of Ensuring Financial Security in Ukraine in Terms of Globalization Challenges” by Zakharii Varnalii, Doctor of Economics, Professor of Finance Department of Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, caused a special interest among the listeners.
The professional discussion was continued by Roza Nurhaliieva (PhD, Associate Professor of Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz), Nadiia Yurkiv (Doctor of Economics, Professor, Advisor at the Directors of the National Institute of Strategic Decisions), Nadiia Davydenko (Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of Finance Department of National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine), Myroslava Khutorna (Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor of State Higher Educational Institution Banking University Cherkasy Institute), Nelia Volkova (PhD, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean for Education Work, Faculty of Economics, Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University), Iryna Hlazunova (Regional Representatives of “TAC” Insurance Company in Poltava), and Volodymyr Shcherbakov (Independent Director of Supervisory Board of Poltava Bank).
Anna Cherviak, post-graduate student of Finance, Banking and Taxation Department of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” elaborated on the new challenges in her presentation “The Influence of COVID-19 on the Economic Stability of Ukraine”.
Summarizing the conference, the participants stated the relevancy of the problems covered by the reports to improve the results of joined scientific research in directions of priority dedicated to the development of the financial market of Ukraine.
