Scientists discuss topical issues of health and a healthy lifestyle in education, physical culture and sports

On December 1, the III All-Ukrainian scientific and practical Internet conference with international participation “Topical issues of physical culture, sports and physical education” was held at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, dedicated to the problems of health and a healthy lifestyle in education, physical culture and sports.

An annual large-scale scientific event took place on the basis of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, in which practitioners and scientists from leading Ukrainian and foreign partner universities actively participated. Due to the imposed martial law and active hostilities on the territory of our country, the III All-Ukrainian scientific and practical Internet conference with international participation “Topical issues of physical culture, sports and physical education”, organized by scientific and pedagogical workers of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Department of Physical Education of Poltava Polytechnic took place in a mixed format using Zoom application. The scientific event brought together practitioners and scientists from leading Ukrainian and foreign partner universities around the discussion of current problems of physical culture and sports, physical education.

The participants of the conference discussed topical issues of physical culture and sports, physical education, presented cases of advanced pedagogical experience of the future specialists’ professional training in physical culture, sports, and physical education under martial law, analyzed the stages of modern and historical development of physical culture and sports, characterized pedagogical, psychological as well as medical and biological aspects of physical education and sports. The speakers talked about the conditions for the formation and improvement of sports and technical skills, discussed the problems of health and a healthy lifestyle in education, physical culture and sports, and the student youth actively asked the speakers questions.

In order to exchange scientific knowledge and practical experience in solving issues of physical culture and sports, experience in training future coaches and physical education teachers, health aspects of physical culture and sports, about 160 academic workers of leading Ukrainian higher education institutions, postgraduate students, those receiving higher education joined the active scientific discussion. Useful practical cases were shared by the scientists and students of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport, Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko, Izmail State University of Humanities, KZ “Kharkiv Humanitarian and Pedagogical Academy” of the Kharkiv Regional Council, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State University, State Institution “Luhansk National University named after Taras Shevchenko”, Poltava Institute of Economics and Law of the Open International University of Human Development “Ukraine”, Donbas State Pedagogical University, Poltava State Medical University, Poltava Academy of Continuing Education M.V.Ostrogradsky, specialists-practitioners of the Poltava regional organization of the All-Ukrainian physical culture and sports society “Kolos”, Poltava Regional Military Administration, Sports Schools of the Poltava region.

Interesting scientific speeches, unique developments in the field of physical culture and sports, physical education were presented by experts and scientists from leading universities from Poland, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, namely, L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, London Metropolitan University.

The conference participants were greeted by the Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Vadym Vadimov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the Poltava Polytechnic Lina Rybalko, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor of the Department of Management of Physical Culture Svitlana Stadnyk and Doctor of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Professor, Head of the Department of Health, Fitness and Recreation of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport Olena Andrieieva, who noted the steady interest of Ukrainian and foreign scientists to the issues of the conference and wished for new significant achievements in the field of scientific and research activity, solving current challenges of health and a healthy lifestyle in education, physical culture and sports.

“Scientific and practical conferences of a high all-Ukrainian and international level, dedicated to the challenges of the physical culture, sports and physical education development gather like-minded people around them, who are ready to share new practical experience and developments in these fields. I wish the participants fruitful work and interesting discussions!” – commented the Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Acting Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Work of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Vadym Vadimov.

According to the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko, the university traditionally organizes powerful All-Ukrainian as well as international scientific and practical conferences with international participation, where the most pressing issues of physical culture, sports and physical education are discussed.

“In our common opinion, holding conferences of such a high level, establishing a constructive dialogue with Ukrainian and European scientists, specialists-practitioners is an additional opportunity to discuss the most pressing issues, to find and auspiciously implement ways to successfully solve them,” – emphasized the Head of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic.

The plenary session was moderated by Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Larysa Onishchuk. The working languages of the conference were Ukrainian and English.

Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of the Poltava State Medical University Valerii Zhamardii shared his own scientific achievements in the field of health-preserving technologies with audience, presenting the speech “Health-preserving technologies in the system of physical education of student youth”.

The results of the study on the correction of excess body weight in women of the second period of adulthood were presented by the postgraduate student of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport Khrystyna Skorokhod.

In the context of the influence of loads on the intestinal microflora, the study “Microbiota of people and animals: influence of physical activity and diet” presented by Viktor Kuibida, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Biology, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health of the Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav and Petro Kokhanets, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor of the Department of Sports Games, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health of Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav stood out as relevant.

“Didactic principles of forming a health-preserving educational environment” was presented by Deputy Director of the Poltava Academy of Continuing Education M. V. Ostrogradskyi, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Serhii Dudko.

Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Biology and Health Basics of Izmail State University of Humanities Oksana Bashtovenko prepared an interesting speech “Individual Platform of Physical Development”.

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Primary Education and Educational Management, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Arts of the Kharkiv Humanitarian-Pedagogical Academy Mykola Andrieiev presented the report “Formation of the worldview of a healthy lifestyle in future teachers”.

Director of the Poltava Regional School of Higher Sports Mastery, Head of the Poltava Regional Organization of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine, Honored Coach of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine Kostiantyn Semeniaha spoke about the peculiarities of organizing and holding competitions in high-achievement sports.

Postgraduate student of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport Shi Yang Ze introduced the audience to edutainment technologies in the process of physical culture and health work of educational institutions. The key aspects of medical and biological training of future physical therapists in terms of the formation of their professional competence were described in the report made by the senior lecturer of the Department of Social Work and Special Education of the Poltava Institute of Economics and Law, Yevheniia Vyshar.

The active speakers of the conference were the students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, in particular the master’s student of group 201-mFS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Tetiana Hryn presented the research of her qualification work “Formation of physical health in students by means of health and recreational motor activity”.

Pedagogical and methodological conditions for the formation of high-speed abilities of athletes in kayaking and canoeing during training were outlined by a master’s student of the 201-mFS group of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the winner of a full set of awards of the Championship of Ukraine in kayaking and canoeing Sevilia Ibadova. Master’s student of the 101-mFS group Alina Hrushchenko presented the report “Adaptive physical culture in the system of rehabilitation of schoolchildren with visual impairments”.

A student of group 301-FS of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Yelyzaveta Nikulina shared her own research “Peculiarities of the development of flexibility in humans”.

During the conference, the participants worked in five sectional meetings:

  • Modern and historical aspects of the physical culture and sports development;
  • Advanced pedagogical experience of future specialists’ professional training in physical education and sports under martial law;
  • Pedagogical, psychological and medico-biological aspects of physical education and sports;
  • Formation and improvement of sports and training skills;
  • Issues of health and healthy lifestyle in education, physical culture and sports.

Scientific discussions, deliberations on presented theses and practical cases were moderated by experienced scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Summarizing the work, the participants of the III All-Ukrainian scientific and practical Internet conference with international participation “Topical issues of physical culture, sports and physical education” expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizing committee, the scientific and pedagogical team of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports and the Department of Physical Education as well as to the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, expressing hope for further fruitful scientific, educational and professional cooperation. All participants received certificates.

Based on the results of the III All-Ukrainian scientific and practical Internet conference with international participation “Topical issues of physical culture, sports and physical education”, a collection of scientific materials and theses will be prepared, which can be found on the official website of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Earlier, students – physical therapists and rehabilitators helped war victims to recover; scientists, practitioners and future specialists discussed the theory and practice of spreading the culture of physical education; and scientists of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports held a conference on physical rehabilitation.
