Solidarity grants: opportunities for Ukrainian scientists in wartime conditions

EMBO provides grants for host institutions in Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia and Turkey to provide a grant through their host institutions to selected grantees. The grants will be available as a one-year scholarship for dissertation research as well as research work at the professor and group leader level.

Solidarity grants: opportunities for Ukrainian scientists in wartime conditions

EMBO provides grants for host institutions in the member countries of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia and Turkey to provide a grant through their host institutions to selected grantees.

The grants will be available as a one-year scholarship for researchers to start, continue or complete their PhD or PhD thesis, as well as for postdoctoral researchers and for research scientists at the level of professors and group leaders.

The study must be conducted in one of these countries – Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia or Turkey.

Grant amounts:

  • graduate students: up to 2,000 euros per month (24,000 euros per year);
  • postdoctoral researchers: up to 3,000 euros per month (36,000 euros per year);
  • professors and group leaders: up to 4,000 euros per month (48,000 euros per year).

Previously, students and teachers are invited to attend lectures by famous foreign scientists, and young people are invited to improve their digital skills in an online educational course.
