In accordance with the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of October 6, 2022 "On awarding the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada for the contribution of youth to the development of parliamentarism, local self-government in 2022 ", the prize was awarded to ten active citizens, among whom Oleksandr Drobotia – the head of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates of Poltava Polytechnic, PhD student, majoring in "Construction and Civil Engineering".

On December 26, in Kyiv, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, presented diplomas to the winners of the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at a solemn ceremony.

"At all times, young people have always been and remain the driving force of any state. How our country will develop and live tomorrow depends on the principles and ideals that you carry in your heart today," – said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine and emphasized that, despite the difficult time for the country, the only legislative body of the state is doing everything to ensure that worthy representatives of our youth receive well-deserved awards.

Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that, unlike previous awards, this year the winners of the Prize were not only representatives of local self-government, scientists, postgraduate students and students, but also young people who are currently on the front lines or volunteering. According to him, this is a marker of today’s history that our country is experiencing and creating these days.

"We realize that now is the time of great people. And among them, there are many young people who are united in their devotion to our state, united in their patriotism. Now we are united by one desire – our common victory in this war, and only together we can achieve it. Thank you. Glory to Ukraine!" – emphasized the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Youth and Sports Andrii Kozhemiakin noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the Committee in particular, have always been ready to cooperate in order to respond to important and urgent problems of the youth. According to him, the realities of wartime have made their own adjustments, but did not completely remove the issue of youth and the future of Ukraine from the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"The year 2022 turned out to be difficult and full of challenges for Ukrainians. It is important that despite the state of war in our country, we continue to move forward, continue to develop and bring our Victory closer with our deeds!

For me personally, an important and significant event was the awarding of the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the contribution of youth to the development of parliamentarism and local self-government for 2021-2022.

This is an extremely high recognition of the effectiveness of my work!

I thank the staff of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and personally the rector Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Onyshchenko for the support, assistance in development, wise instructions and trust!

We continue to work and move towards Victory!

I would also like to thank People's Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Boblyakh for the opportunity to join the elaboration of many legislative initiatives of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Humanitarian and Information Policy. Participation in the law-making process gave me invaluable experience and became one of the factors in awarding the Prize.

I plan to continue working in Ukraine, for Ukraine, and by my actions to bring our Victory closer, and in the future to rebuild the country and raise the economy!" – commented the laureate Oleksandr Drobotia.

Earlier, four scientists of the Polytechnic were awarded the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists for 2021.
