On 8-20 July 2023, Taipei (Republic of China) hosted the World Table Tennis Championships among athletes with hearing impairments. Representatives from around the world competed for the championship in the youth and adult categories.
A student of group 202-FS of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Maksym Ovcharenko won a full set of awards in two categories as a member of the Ukrainian national team:
- I place – individual standings (youth);
- I place – pair standings (youth);
- I place – mixed pairs (youth);
- I place – pair standings (adults);
- II place – team standings (adults);
- III place – individual standings (adults);
- III place – mixed pairs (adults).
In total, the athlete of Poltava Polytechnic won 4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Earlier, cheerleaders of Poltava Polytechnic made their successful debut at the European Championships in Italy, and university athletes became gold medallists of the Ukrainian Beach Football Cup among women’s university teams.
