The city’s online festival of good deeds "I am a volunteer, and I am proud of it!", organized and held by the Poltava City Center of Social Services for families, children and youth, has come to an end. The results of the annual work were summed up, the best ones were noted, interesting ideas, projects and plans were discussed. Each volunteer detachment from the local authorities was awarded a diploma for active volunteer work as well as gifts.
Volunteer Detachment "Polytechnic Volunteers" of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and the Volunteer Detachment "Open Hearts" of the Poltava College of Oil and Gas of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" were awarded.
"Participants in the online festival of good deeds are volunteers of all ages, from 7 to 85, people of different genders, religions, political views, professions, social status. But they all have one thing in common – the desire to make the world a better place, to help those in need. And without hesitation, to spend one’s free time, energy and vigour on it.
Not all volunteer groups were able to implement their ideas and carry out active volunteer work. Despite the quarantine restrictions, however, many of the town's volunteers worked, so they have something to tell the community about. And these volunteer groups took part in the city's online festival of good deeds "I'm a volunteer, and I'm proud of that!" There are 16 of them this year! All volunteer groups work in different areas: in the field of working with people with disabilities; in the field of working with children of preferential categories; in the field of working with people in difficult life circumstances; in the field of working with veterans and the elderly; in the field of working on the formation of a healthy lifestyle and prevention of negative phenomena; in the field of protection and preservation of the environment and animals; in the field of working with internally displaced persons; in the field of assistance to servicemen who are and have been in the ATO zone (Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone), JFO (Joint Forces Operation) and their families; in the field of cultural initiatives and education.
For two weeks, the citizens had the opportunity to surf the website page of the Poltava City Center of Social Services and get acquainted with the work of volunteers of each detachment.
We sincerely thank all the volunteers of the town for their tireless work, we wish them inspiration, new cool ideas and projects and their successful implementation in the new 2022!" – commented the organizers.
Earlier, students of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" became voluntary assistants to health workers in city vaccination centers, and the volunteer team of the university received an award for charity in the social sphere at a national competition.
It should be recalled that the annual National Contest "Charitable Ukraine" invites participants.
