The results of the regional stage of the All-Ukrainian competition program “The Best Student of Ukraine” have become known, aimed at identifying and providing the necessary impetus for the further dynamic development of Ukraine’s student youth as the vanguard of society’s development. The regional stage of the competition program took place under the initiative and comprehensive support of the Youth and Sports Department of the Poltava Regional State Administration, the Poltava Regional Council and the Poltava Regional Branch of the All-Ukrainian Youth Public Organization “Student Republic”, as well as personal support of highly professional jury members.
Participating students submitted competitive applications, were nominated and passed a thorough selection of professionals, who highly appreciated the significant personal sports achievements and accomplishments of the submitted candidates. The jury included:
- Anatolii Holovan, head of Poltava regional organization of FST “Kolos”;
- Valentyn Hrabko, president of the Handball Federation of the Poltava region;
- Vitalii Dziamka, deputy of the Student Magistrate of Poltava region, sportsman;
- Liubomyr Lemeshko, member of the National Swimming Team of Ukraine, participant of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro;
- Stanislav Maizus, sports journalist, executive director of SC “Poltava”;
- Alim Nabiiev, seven-time world champion, three-time European champion in Muay Thai and kickboxing;
- Viktor Pozhechevskyi, honored football coach of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Poltava;
- Maryna Trokhymenko, head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava Regional State Administration.
Based on the results of the jury’s work, the winner and nominees of the regional stage of the All-Ukrainian competition program “The Best Student of Ukraine” were determined:
the best student-athlete of the Poltava Region 2020/2022 became Ihor Havryshko, champion of Ukraine, Europe and the world in kettlebell sports, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
The silver medalist was Anastasiia Bunevych, Master of Sports of Ukraine in rhythmic gymnastics, a student of the Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University.
The third place went to Nazar Nerianov, Master of Sports of Ukraine in powerlifting (fulfilled the standard of Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine), student of Poltava State Medical University.
The female and male nominees of the regional stage of the All-Ukrainian competition program “The Best Student of Ukraine” are as follows:
- Anastasiia Dorosh – nomination “Alpine skiing”, student of Poltava Basic Medical Professional College;
- Karyna Kaliman – nomination “Sports dances”, student of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University;
- Svitlana Koval – nomination “Gorodki sport”, student of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University;
- Olha Kocherzhenko – nomination “Sports tourism, sports orientation”, student of Poltava State Agrarian University;
- Anastasiia Mamai – nomination “Choreography”, student of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University;
- Victoriia Muntian – nomination “Kayaking and canoeing”, student of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University;
- Rostyslav Olenich – nomination “Kettlebell sport”, student of the Separate structural subdivision “Khomutek Vocational College” of Poltava State Agrarian University;
- Nikita Solovei – nomination “Military sports all-around”, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;
- Myroslav Suprun – nomination “Football”, student of the Separate Structural Subdivision Lubny Finance-Economic College of Poltava State Agrarian University;
- Anastasiia Taran – nomination “Powerlifting”, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;
- Yaroslav Tkach – noination “Climbing”, student of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University;
- Maksym Yaroshenko – nomination “Military sports all-around”, student of Poltava V. G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University.
Awarding of the female and male winners will take place at the regional level after the announcement of the names of the best students in all ten nominations.
Representatives of the student sports elite of the region will represent Poltava region at the finals of the All-Ukrainian competition program “The Best Student of Ukraine”.
“The Best Student of Ukraine” is an all-Ukrainian competition program designed to identify and provide impetus for the further development of student youth of Ukraine as the vanguard of the development of Ukrainian society.
The organizers of “The Best Student of Ukraine” program are the “Student Republic” WYNGO and the People’s Democratic League of Youth. Organizational support is traditionally provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
