“We promised you from the first days to start your entry into the profession. Today we have gathered you here so that you can feel what a real professional holiday is like. This week, we celebrate the Day of the Oil, Gas and Oil Refining Industry Workers of Ukraine without any big celebrations. Our college is a peer of the oil and gas industry in the Poltava region. It exists as long as gas production here,” – noted Director of the Poltava College of Oil and Gas, Candidate of Technical Sciences Liubov Shumska.
“Before the war, this professional holiday together with the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the structural subdivision of which is the college, was celebrated on a large scale – exhibitions, powerful industry forums were held, which gathered the heads of leading gas production and service companies both from all over Ukraine and from foreign companies, and it really was a holiday. Currently, in the conditions of war, a reminder of the professional holiday is an opportunity to express what great hopes are placed on the future professionals of ensuring Ukraine's energy independence. And as the Director of the Poltava College of Oil and Gas, Candidate of Technical Sciences Liubov Shumska noted, it is important that students enter the profession from the first days. It is extremely gratifying that the college graduate Vitalii Vitryk, who achieved maximum results after graduating from college, is with us today as a model and role model. As the rector, I am proud that he is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of our university.
Dear students, today I would like to give you confidence. You chose the right profession, you became first-year students of a college that is known throughout Ukraine, as today the most urgent problem, certainly after Ukraine’s victory over the enemy, remains the issue of energy independence of our state. Specialists in this field are extremely needed for the state to be independent and have prospects in its development. From the first days of their studies at the college, students know that the university has an Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas, in which, together with business, many modern laboratories have been created, which are open to them, and the presence of academic workers of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas of the university (Director of the Oil and Gas Research Institute of the Poltava Polytechnic Anatolii Kaliuzhnyi, Director of the Educational and Production Center Petro Holub, Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technologies Yurii Vynnykov, Head of the Department of Geology and Drilling Maksym Kharchenko), students of the Polytechnic, leaders of student self-government at the meeting – this is our tradition of building a professional community together with students.
Thank you for the touching gift – an eco-shopper, painted by college students and children from families of IDPs, a lot of whom the college accepted and takes care of them in every way. Congratulations, dear colleagues, on the professional holiday – the Day of the Worker of the Oil, Gas and Oil Refining Industry of Ukraine, we thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the fact that we have the opportunity to meet, learn and communicate today. We remember this and do everything for the Victory of Ukraine on all fronts!” – noted the rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
For many years of fruitful cooperation, constant support and significant personal contribution to the development of the material and technical base for the formation of European education standards at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the Poltava College of Oil and Gas, Vitaly Vitryk was awarded.
“It is very nice to be in the walls of the college. I join all the congratulations, today is a really big holiday. I want to wish you to study, and not because you "have to", but because it opens up great opportunities for you. I wish you a successful study. Research and Technical Enterprise “Burova Technika” fruitfully cooperates with the university. Poltava has the best university in Ukraine now. Since we have 70% of deposits, God himself ordered to prepare personnel here. We will continue to develop the energy independence of our country,” – thanked Vitalii Vitryk.
During the meeting with the students, he talked about his life and professional experience, answered all the questions of the freshmen.
The student council of the college expressed gratitude to the guests for sharing their experience, for the best achievements in the training of highly qualified specialists of the oil, gas and oil refining industry, and congratulated them on the professional holiday with sweet presents in eco-shops painted by college students and children from families of IDPs.
Artem Loik, a famous rap artist, graduate, and now head of the Center for Culture and Student Creativity of the Poltava Polytechnic, congratulated those present with the performance of his joint project with the students of the Polytechnic “Raging”, wished everyone independence, and reminded that knowledge is an invisible weapon that will show itself after victories in peacetime.
