On December 16, 2021 a meeting of the Coordination Council for the Development of Tourism and Resorts at the Poltava Regional State Administration was held in the conference hall of the hotel and restaurant complex "Almaz +" in order to sum up the outcomes of the tourist season of Poltava region in 2021 and form plans for 2022.
The meeting of the Coordination Council was attended by scientists of Poltava Polytechnic: Doctor of Economics, Professor, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law Iryna Chernysh, who was also elected as Deputy Chairman of the Poltava Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tourism, Culture and Innovation; Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Acting Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports (Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports), founder of the Poltava regional branch of the Union for the Promotion of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine, Chairman of the Board of the Poltava regional public organization "Regional tourism cluster", member of the NGO "Union of Guides Poltava region", NGO "Union of local ethnographers", member of the regional federation of sports tourism Larysa Onishchuk.
Head of the Coordination Council for the Development of Tourism and Resorts at the Poltava Regional State Administration Inna Sherstiuk informed about the consideration of tourism development projects in 2021 implemented by the Department and summed up the results of this year's tourist season in the Poltava region. Deputy Head of the Coordination Council for the Development of Tourism and Resorts, Deputy of the Poltava Regional Council Yanina Barybina presented the potential of the nature reserve fund for tourism development in the Poltava region and plans to prepare for the 2022 tourist season. During the meeting, a practical case for conducting master classes for tourists was also considered.
Among the areas of the Council’s work for the next year were outlined: promotion of tourism opportunities in outlined destinations, creation of inclusive tourism products in Poltava region and support of small business in tourism for people with disabilities, establishment of close communication with representatives of the nature reserve fund of Poltava region to create products of active ecological tourism, support of entrepreneurship in tourism.
It should be recalled that in the Polytechnic, future tourism professionals learned to create investment-attractive sightseeing tours, studied the features of modern hotel business, and scientists took advanced training courses on the basis of the largest national hotel and restaurant chain.
