The exposition presents the most significant works of the Honored Artist of Ukraine, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, laureate of the Petro Artemenko, Samiilo Velychko, Mykola Yaroshenko Prize – Mykola Pidhornyi.

"We already have an interesting experience of holding such art exhibitions: the Center of Contemporary Art of the University has repeatedly exhibited works by famous artists and alumni of children's art studios. In the era of quarantine restrictions, the global pandemic COVID-19, we had the opportunity to hold exhibitions online. We are sincerely grateful to the university for favorable conditions for the harmonious development of talented student youth, acquaintance with famous personalities and immersion in the world of beauty. Mykola Pidhornyi is an exhibitor of all-Ukrainian and foreign exhibitions, whose works are stored in museums and private collections of Poltava and abroad. The artist works in the genres of landscape painting, still life, portrait, thematic painting. The exhibition presents paintings that demonstrate diverse preferences, the artist's search for a wide variety of genres and art techniques, his creative imagination and philosophical view of past and present events," – commented a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) in Paris, Candidate in Art History, Head of the Department of Fine Arts of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Tetiana Zinenko.

A significant place in the works of Mykola Pidhornyi occupies a portrait, in painting and graphics were perpetuated Poltava artists, journalists, writers, poets, lecturers, scientists, created images of Petro Mohyla, Ivan Mazepa, Samiilo Velychko, Mykola Hogol, Taras Shevchenko, Ivan Pavlovskyi, Leonid Pozen, which are a bright gallery of prominent figures of Ukraine.

The exhibition also presents a self-portrait of the artist, which demonstrates the extraordinary approach of the painter to the disclosure of his own inner world, has a balanced and clearly expressed modern interpretation. All his life the artist reflects himself, serves as a special model for himself, studies himself, philosophically comprehends a person by his own example, fantasizes and self-ironizes.

"An artist is more individual than anyone. All see life in their own way. I do not make a tracing paper out of life. I am trying to rethink it. It is strange to me when an artist lacks ideas. I always have so many of them that I do not know what to do in the first place. I can't name my one favorite job – I love them all. Usually, you paint something interesting, and it seems – here it is, my favorite job. But as time goes by, the next road for you appears. Therefore, I love them all," – says artist Mykola Pidhornyi.

The exhibition "Pictorial Painting" will last at the Center of Contemporary Art of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" for a month. Everyone can visit it and enjoy the world of art.

Admission is free by pre-registration – (093) 454 90 44, Tetiana Zinenko.
