The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that all checkpoints on the western border work around the clock. Verification and registration are simplified as much as possible, and the list of required documents are minimized.

Ukrainian border guards, in cooperation with colleagues from neighboring EU countries and Moldova, are doing everything possible to speed up the passage of all citizens of Ukraine and have never created obstacles that would hinder this.

In Ukraine, there is no discrimination by race, skin color or nationality, including when crossing the state border by foreign nationals. The "first come first served" approach applies to all nationalities.

In accordance with international humanitarian law, priority is given to women and children. All men, both citizens of Ukraine and foreign citizens, are checked and registered after women, children and the elderly. All people at the border are asked to comply with the law and order as well as to act responsibly in the light of the difficult situation. This will allow the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine to speed up the process of crossing the border. Those who cross the border are asked to have prepared documents and to be as organized as possible. In addition, those crossing the border must show mutual respect and understanding to everyone at the border at this extremely difficult time. Border guard officers work around the clock on both sides, in difficult conditions, so that the crossing was as fast and straight as possible.

We would like to emphasize once again that the ongoing difficult humanitarian situation in Ukraine, including the situation on the western border of Ukraine, is caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. Russia bears full responsibility for killing and injuring innocent people, destroying civilian infrastructure and creating obstacles to the safe departure of foreign nationals.

Ukraine calls on all foreign governments to demand that President Putin immediately end the war in Ukraine. This will stabilize the situation and focus more on the safety of the population, including foreign students.
