"I appealed to the Minister with a request in his speeches and statements to express support for Ukraine and condemn the actions of the Russian Federation.
On this occasion, I asked Mr. Blanquer to support the initiative of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Ms. Niki Kerameus, to create a working group on supporting Ukraine in the field of education and science by the EU countries.
In turn, Mr. Blanquer assured of absolute solidarity and support of the Ukrainian people and Ukraine as well as said that he had already had a preliminary conversation with Ms. Kerameus and fully supports the offer to create such a working group.
At the same time, the Minister noted that France is already actively helping temporarily evacuated citizens of Ukraine in their placement, as well as providing children with the opportunity to study in schools. Mr. Blanquer also said that the Ministry is ready to join in supporting the development of distance education, including the development of the "All-Ukrainian Online School platform".
I appealed to the Minister with a request to consider the possibility of creating by EU countries a support program for the restoration of educational and scientific infrastructure and the functioning of the educational and scientific sector of Ukraine due to the brutal war in Russia.
I am sincerely grateful for the support of the French Republic and hope for further assistance to the Ukrainian people," – wrote Serhii Shkarlet.
