Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet talked about the organization of the educational process in educational institutions.
“In order to ensure safety of all participants in the educational process during the martial law regime, the Ministry of Education and Science on February 25, 2022 recommended that all educational institutions announce holidays for at least two weeks. Twelfth day of the war. Fighting continues in some regions, and our main task is to save the lives of every citizen of our state. At the same time, we monitor and see that there are regions where the situation is calmer and they can continue their educational activities,” – pointed out Serhii Shkarlet.
Due to the fact that in some regions of Ukraine there is a real threat to the lives and health of civilians, and in most regions several times a day the air raid siren sounds, the Ministry of Education and Science recommends after the vacation to organize the work of educational institutions depending on the specific situations:
- temporary suspension of the educational process (implementation of measures and tasks determined by the military-civil administration by employees of educational institutions);
- organization of the educational process in a form of distance learning (in coordination with the military-civil administration).
In vocational education institutions after the holidays it is recommended: to organize the theoretical part of the educational program using distance learning technologies, which does not involve visiting educational institutions by its students and lecturers; the practical part of the training, which cannot be performed, should be postponed to the period after the end of martial law.
For first- and second-year students, it is possible to transfer hours of theoretical and practical training to the next academic year.
Colleges and universities are also recommended to start the educational process after the vacation, depending on the security situation in the regions where it allows starting the educational process in distance or mixed format.
At the same time, it is recommended to provide special training conditions (setting individual study schedules, granting academic leave, etc.) for those students who are in the Armed Forces or territorial defense units, volunteer, and make changes to the approved schedule of the educational process taking into account current changes.
