The month of landscaping at the university is underway

Academic staff and students of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for several weeks in a row are gathering for tolokas [form of communal voluntary work – translator’s note] on the territory of the campus and around the buildings – they managed to perform a significant part of the planned work not only on the territory of the university, but in the surrounding city territory as well.

“Spring tolokas are our long-standing tradition, which was not broken by either the pandemic or the war. Thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we have the opportunity to take care of the rear and maintain order. It is gratifying that lecturers and students support this initiative, as well as looking for new methods, suggesting new interesting improvement projects,” – commented Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

“We have cleaned a large area on Pershotravnevyi Avenue, on the slopes of Institute Hill in the direction of Sadova Street. We also helped the communal services to get rid of the brick fence remnants, which bordered on the building №7 of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management in the city center. The fence is not related to the university; however, according to the Standard rules of landscaping of the settlement, all entities in the field of landscaping, regardless of ownership and subordination are required to clean the surrounding area at a distance of 20 m around buildings. I would like to especially thank the stakeholders, business partners and utilities who helped the university with special equipment for garbage collection. It is the business of each of us to be involved and to bring order, to help the city to be clean and tidy, to take care of the well-being,” – commented coordinator of the toloka and adviser of the rector Anatolii Martynenko.

It should be recalled that National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was awarded with the “Ecooscar” for its significant contribution to the ecological transformation of the state, business and society, and the “Students’ Alley” improvement project won the Participation Budget competition.
