On October 11-19, the competition of the XVII Universiade of Poltava Region in mini-football took place on the modern mini-football pitch of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", in which 5 picked teams of higher education institutions actively participated. Opposite teams pleased their fans with a vivid game and fierce sports confrontations on the football pitch.
National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" was represented by a picked team, which is trained by Honored Coach of Ukraine, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksii Vorobiov.

The athletes of Poltava Polytechnic demonstrated a well-coordinated team game, they were constantly creating tense moments on the football pitch and became worthy opponents for the rest of the participating teams.
As a result of intense struggle, the picked team of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" became the gold medalist of the XVII Universiade of Poltava region in mini-football. And the team player, a student of group 202-NG of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas Yevhenii Sopilniak won an honorary award, becoming the "Best Goalkeeper of the Universiade".

Recently, I personally congratulated the athletes on winning the All-Ukrainian Beach Football Games "Beach Games", which took place in Skadovsk, and presented them with the university decorations. Another victory motivates and inspires sports excitement for new achievements! I wish you further victories, you are the best!" – greeted the rector of the university, head of a separate unit of the NGO "Student Sports Union of Ukraine" in Poltava region, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
According to, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Lina Rybalko, excellent material and technical base, state-of-the-art sports locations and personal example of management and lecturers are the key to successful development of youth sports at the university.
