The Section of Advanced and Applied Mathematics Discussed the Web Applications, the R Programming Language and Ecological Smart Phone Applications

On April 28 and 29, within the 72nd Scientific Conference of Professors, Teachers, Academic Staff, Post-Graduates and Students of the University, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the meetings of the Section of Advanced and Applied Mathematics took place.

The Section of Advanced and Applied Mathematics Discussed the Web Applications, the R Programming Language and Ecological Smart Phone Applications

The section meeting was joined by 73 participants, the scientists of the Department of Advanced and Applied Mathematics of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the university students. The participants were presented innovative inventions, generalized results of scientific research.

Vlad Demyanenko, student of group 501 of Applied Mathematics, presented an innovative approach to the web application development. He managed to reassure that the PROGRESSIVE WEB APPLICATION (PWA) technology has a huge potential and is easy to use (his academic advisor was Associate Professor Nataliia Ichanska).

First-year student of Computer Science course Yehor Vazhnychyi got the participants interested in his report called “The Discretization Process of Multivariable Control Systems for Automatic Control in the R Programming Language”. Yehor was invited to take part in the final conference of the second round of the All-Ukrainian Student Research Competition in Mathematics and Statistics, Applied Mathematics, which is held at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. (His academic advisor was Assistant Professor Klavdiia Solovchuk)

The work of an active participant of the student maths club of the university, winner of school and students competitions in mathematics and information technology, student of group 102TN Myroslav Moliuseiko was met with a great interest from the audience. He is also the winner of the university competition in mathematics and will represent Poltava Polytechnic at the second round of the All-Ukrainian Student Academic Competition. (Academic advisor was Klavdiia Solovchuk)

The Master’s Degree in Applied Mathematics receiver Roman Kyzymenko presented a real professional project in programming which would provide many possibilities for working with the customer database. Roman is a skilled specialist and has already finished a few successful projects. (Academic advisor was Inna Rassokha)

The pressing problem of the correlation of economic growth and foreign investments was covered by the student of group 101EP Oksana Zhytnyk. The scientific report caused a productive discussion and great interest among the meeting participants. (Academic advisors were Associate Professors Inna Rassokha and Svitlana Kulakova)

The modern mathematics uses various integration methods. The main criterion for choosing a method is its efficiency. The second-year students of Oil and Gas Engineering Oryna Abramova and Oleksii Zub reassured the listeners that it’s the method of indefinite indexes that is efficient for the integrals with quasi-polynomial elements. The students are also the participants of the second round of the All-Ukrainian Student Research Competition in Mathematics and Statistics, Applied Mathematics. (Their academic advisors were Professor Mykola Sierov and Associate Professor Nataliia Ichanska)

The ecological problems now concern everyone, so it is no surprise that the article of Stanislav Sirovyi, the student of Applied Mathematics, caused an active discussion. He presented an application for smart phones to improve the ecology of our town. (Academic advisor was Nataliia Ichanska)

Serhii Redniuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Advanced and Applied Mathematics, covered the influence of the computing technologies on the mathematics development in his report called “The Role of Computer Mathematics in the Education of Engineers”. Assistant Professor Yuliia Prystavka and the student of group 501PM Liudmyla Moskalets delivered a report called “Applying the Simplex Method in Solving the Experimental Problems”.

A report on developing a website of a hotel complex with the help of HTML and CSS was presented by Yuliia Prystavka, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied and Advanced Mathematics, and Yuliia Huzii, student of group 501PM.

In this difficult time, websites of secondary and higher educational institutions are especially important for online education. The student of group 501PM Mykhailo Urbanovych told about the comfortable and functional website of Poltava School No. 21 (which was developed by him) in his report called “The Development of a Website of a General Education School With the Help of CMS Joomla”.

The meeting participants managed to hold a real scientific discussion. In total, 17 reports were delivered, 6 of them were created by young scientists, and 15 were prepared by students. The most interesting one was “The Development of the Poltava Recycling Mobile Application” by Stanislav Sirovyi and Nataliia Ichanska, dedicated to the current ecological problems and the organization of waste sorting. The report of Oksana Zhytnyk “Applying the Methods of Mathematics in Analyzing the Correlation and the Co-influence of Economic Growth and Foreign Investments” was chosen the best among the first-year students’ presentations. The author built the mathematical reliability model of gross domestic product and foreign investments in the capital stock.
