On September 7, at the sports ground of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", the solemn closing of the annual memorial mini-football tournament among the student teams of structural subdivisions, which is traditionally held in memory of the former rector of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Honorary Citizen of the City of Poltava, Honored Employee of the Higher School of the Ukrainian SSR, Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Hryhorovych Onyshchenko took place.
Gifts, certificates and medals to the winning teams as well as the best players of the tournament were presented by Rector of the Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Onyshchenko; Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko; and, Head of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates Oleksandr Drobotia.
The winners of the mini-football tournament were:
I place – the team of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law;
II place – the team of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas;
III place – the team of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
IV place – the team of the Poltava College of Oil and Gas.
Individual awards for nominations were received by:
The best player of the tournament became Andrii Truskalo, a player of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas team;
The best defender of the tournament is Nazar Halachan, a player of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law team;
The best goalkeeper of the tournament is Yehor Soboliev, a player of the Poltava College of Oil and Gas;
The best scorer of the tournament is Oleksii Moskaliov, a player of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law team.
"I thank all the participants for the celebration you organized during the final games. It's definitely nice to see the desire to be the best and win. The finals were cool – unexpected, dramatic, but the result is on the scoreboard. The most important thing is that we all had fun. I sincerely thank everyone present, I thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for this opportunity, that we held the tournament safely and without air-raid alerts in 3 days. The champions of the tournament received the transitional Cup! Forward to new victories! Glory to Ukraine!" – congratulated the Rector of the University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko noted that the tournaments do not end there – the Commonwealth Cup is ahead, where students will also be able to show their skills.
"The university campus just felt your lively, friendly mood, your emotions. It was very nice. We congratulate you on the closing of the traditional tournament, with which we honor the memory of Oleksandr Onyshchenko. Thank you all, I wish you good health, do not lose your sports zeal. We are heading for victory!" – said Lina Rybalko.
"I wish you not to dwell on your goals and go only forward. I want to say that all of you are winners, as if you are here, you are already the best. Engage in science, sports. Let there be only victories in your life!" – added Oleksandr Drobotia.
Earlier, Poltava Polytechnic awarded the winners of the city's student football tournament "Be active for the sake of peace!".
