On August 9, celebrations on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine took place in the yard of the Vasyl Krychevskyi Poltava Museum of Local Lore. During the event, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, and the first deputy chairman of the Poltava Regional Council, Oleksandr Lemeshko, awarded the best athletes of the Poltava Region with Honorable Diplomas of the Regional Military Administration and the Regional Council.
“I know firsthand what sports are and how difficult it is to achieve high results. In recent years, sports in the country began to develop more actively – sports grounds, stadiums, swimming pools were built. The most important thing is that all the results that our athletes achieved in the national and international arena are very high, and the results of the Poltava region are the highest. I am very grateful to you for this. Unfortunately, the enemy is doing everything to hinder your trainings, but despite the war, thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, law enforcement officers, territorial defense of Ukraine, you have the opportunity to improve yourselves. I am very grateful to you for your desire to raise the national flag in every corner of the world. I am sure that there are many more great victories ahead,” – noted Dmytro Lunin.
“I am very delighted that the Poltava region is famous for its developed sports infrastructure.
Each of us has our own economic, educational, medical, social and sports front. Today, our Armed Forces are showing extraordinary performance at the front. And our athletes are winning in world sports arenas. I congratulate you on your professional holiday and I want to wish you more victories and achievements on the sports front and, of course, the Great Victory, which will be in the near future,” – wished Oleksandr Lemeshko.
