From 8 to 12 April and from 8 to 26 April, 2024, academic staff of Poltava Polytechnic with experience in writing grant projects or projects with state funding as well as other projects and programmes, PhD in Engineering, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing Kseniia Chychulina and PhD, Head of the Department of Innovation and Intellectual Property Analysis of the University Nataliia Maksiuta, are studying under the Erasmus+ (Mobility of individuals) academic mobility programme at the Austrian partner university – University for Continuing Education Krems.
The first week of the mobility programme was full of meetings with colleagues from a leading Austrian university, joint discussions of study programmes and future projects in the Erasmus+, LIFE and Horizon Europe programmes, as well as many others.
On the first day, 8 April, the scientists were met by Helmut Floegl, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Environment, who stressed the importance of cooperation between the two powerful universities along with exchanging contacts and experience. The head of the Centre for Architectural Heritage and Infrastructure Darya Haroshka gave a campus tour of the university. The final stage of this intense day was a presentation by the Head of the Centre for Environmental Sensitivity, Gregor Radinger, of the Light Lab, a place where students conduct their own research and learn to perceive and feel light and shadows.
On 9 April, 2024, scientists of Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Chychulina and Nataliia Maksiuta presented their CVs, achievements and scientific advantages to participate in further joint projects.
On 10 April, a meeting was held with Christina Ipser, Head and Researcher of the Centre for Real Estate and Facilities Management. Colleagues discussed existing grant projects (NIILS, ReBUSk projects), followed by a meeting with Anna Maria Kaiser, Head of the Centre for the Protection of Cultural Property, representatives of the Climate Engineering Centre Stefanie Kotrba and Klaus Winiwarter, where they discussed possible participation in Greenergy, Pop-Up Urban Spaces projects during their stay.
On 11 and 12 April, teachers of Poltava Polytechnic met with leading experts of the Centre for Environmental Sensitivity, Tania Berger and Elisabeth Huber.
The meetings with Professor Peter Strasser, Professor of the Centre for Architectural Heritage and Infrastructure, who introduced the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, were interesting and informative.
It should be noted that on Tuesday, 16 April, within the framework of the mobility programme and the educational module of the Jean Monnet Erasmus+ Project “Reforming the environmental, energy, economic and financial sectors of Ukraine in the context of European integration”, Nataliia Maksiuta will give a lecture “Ukraine and its Challenges: Ecology View”.
The mobility programme continues, with researchers working on joint Ukrainian-Austrian projects and their implementation in Ukraine and the European Union.
Recently, Sabine Fraser Günes, Head of UN Women in Ukraine, gave an open lecture to the Polytechnic community, and a Polytechnic scientist successfully completed an international internship at leading American educational institutions.
