On 12 August, at the initiative of Student Self-Government of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, a number of exciting events for students, applicants and guests of Poltava took place at the innovative locations of the multidisciplinary classical university. A large-scale event at Poltava Polytechnic was dedicated to the International Youth Day, which Ukrainian youth celebrated with the European youth community for the second time in a row.
“Despite the imposition of martial law and the difficult challenges of today, such as blackouts and air raid alerts, the friendly student family of Poltava Polytechnic is actively involved in youth events, maintaining its internal resources and restoring its own mental health. The activities were planned taking into account the tastes and preferences of modern youth, as they were meant to give the applicants, university students and guests of the city an opportunity to spend their leisure time with benefit and interest, to relax, to have a physical and moral reboot. We are glad that active young people, who are the future of our Ukraine, joined the tournaments, master classes and film screening,” – commented the chairman of Trade Union Committee of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksandr Drobotia.
The innovative locations of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted esports and billiards tournaments, football and basketball fans had the opportunity to train on the up-to-date sports grounds with artificial turf, and yoga and fitness lovers could attend the classes of highly professional coaches. Participants were free to join and choose the event of their choice – online registration was available.
For several hours, Sony PlayStation FC 24 e-sports matches were taking place at Student Hub of Poltava Polytechnic, where the players demonstrated a well-coordinated professional game and the fans supported them with a standing ovation.
Fans of a healthy lifestyle learned simple fitness techniques. Together with a bachelor’s degree graduate majoring in 017 Physical Culture and Sports of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Yelyzaveta Nikulina held a lesson full of physical activities. According to the participants, some of whom were young men, after an intensive warm-up, they felt light and ready for new activities.
The young people had a lot of fun practising their skills and playing several games with experienced rivals at the Sports Billiards Club of Poltava Polytechnic.
The yoga class had a relaxed atmosphere, which allowed the participants to relax and get inspired for further personal achievements.
The football and basketball teams enjoyed friendly matches at the university’s state-of-the-art sports facilities, and the players’ enthusiasm and sportsmanship were actively supported by fans of the beautiful team game.
The highlight of the event was the art therapy sessions, where the participants plunged into the world of beauty and relaxation working with paints and clay under the mentorship of an artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Senior Teacher of the Department of Fine Arts Yurii Bernatskyi and a painter, monumentalist, ceramicist, potter, member of the National Union of Folk Masters of Ukraine, Senior Teacher of the Department of Fine Arts of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Denysenko.
“We are glad that thanks to the coordinated work of Poltava Polytechnic team, everything we had planned was successful and fulfilled, and I am sincerely grateful to the university administration and personally to Rector of Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko for supporting the youth initiatives. Special thanks to everyone who took part in the events, we really appreciate everyone's contribution and look forward to the next meetings,” – said President of Student Parliament of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Valerii Levchenko.
The bright final chord of the large-scale youth event was the open-air screening of a modern film, during which the audience enjoyed the incredible evening atmosphere, the unsurpassed acting and shared their impressions after the active day together with Poltava Polytechnic.
It should be recalled that the Museum of Science invites its visitors to spend their leisure time in a meaningful way and strengthen their mental health by playing board games.
Recently, within the framework of a multimedia project, Poltava Polytechnic presented the significant achievements of Olympic athletes, the participants of a youth camp got acquainted with innovative locations and had a meaningful leisure time at the university, and a unique project on the way to implementing a guide of barrier-free events was presented at Poltava Polytechnic.
Earlier, students of Poltava Polytechnic met with five-time world champion in Thai boxing, a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Oleh Pryimachov, and scientists and experts discussed the issues of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for modern youth.
