Celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine took place simultaneously in all regions. In Poltava, the Governor of Poltava Oblast Oleh Syniehubov, the head of Poltava Oblast Council Oleksandr Bilenkyi, the mayor Oleksandr Mamai, as well as deputies of different levels, officials, educators, clergy and the public gathered to open the renovated park and hoist the largest flag in Poltava region.
“As the President of Ukraine said, the whole country in unity celebrates a family holiday, under the colors that make the heart beat faster with joy – the Day of the State Flag of Ukraine!
Together with my eldest daughter Anastasiia, we visited a historic event in Poltava – hoisting of the largest flag of Ukraine in the region.
The State Flag is a symbol of the struggle for independence, our victories and national achievements. May it always flutter in the peaceful sky!

After the speech of the President of Ukraine, the state flags were solemnly hoisted all over the country. The Poltava flag was hoisted with a live performance of the National Anthem and a military salute.
At the end of the festivities, a helicopter group of the 18th Ihor Sikorskyi Separate Brigade of Army Aviation, based in Poltava, flew over Poltava.
