On October 14, on the main stage of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine was celebrated and officers’ epaulettes were presented to the graduates of the Poltava Polytechnic Department of Military Training. By Order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated August 30, 2022 No. 793, graduates of the university’s Department of Military Training were assigned the primary officer rank of “junior reserve lieutenant”.
Deputy Military Commissar of the Poltava Regional Territorial Center for Equipment and Social Support, a participant in hostilities, Lieutenant Colonel Eduard Borodai visited the ceremony.
“These graduates of the Department of Military Training are special, since they graduate during martial law! We are proud of almost a hundred responsible patriots who have acquired a military specialty, professional knowledge, having revealed formed combat qualities, a conscious attitude to the military oath and psychological readiness to defend Ukraine with weapons in their hands!
In the most difficult times, like the Cossacks hundreds of years ago, Ukrainians rose up to fight for the truth, for their native land, for the dearest people, for the right to be Ukrainians. And no terrorist state can overcome this force. Courage, honor, patriotism, fortitude and freedom are the components of our DNA. And the hearts of our graduates are burning with this. With pride, together with our distinguished guest of honor, each of them was personally presented with officer badges of military uniform as well as awards for special successes.
I sincerely congratulate the graduates on such a special event in their lives and on the holiday, which has become one of the most beloved and respected in our country. As rector, I certify that you can always count on the support of Poltava Polytechnic. Thank you, I wish the defenders and defendresses of a peaceful sky, good health, family comfort and new achievements in the name of Ukraine!
We are paying a heavy price in this war, but we will continue to fight and we will surely win! May the Holy Mother of God, the patroness of the Ukrainian army from long ago and to this day, protect all our soldiers and all Ukrainians who keep their formation and keep their front.

With a moment of silence and the laying of flowers, they honored the Heroes who, in these difficult times, fought to the death against the enemy and died for Ukraine.
For high achievements in military training and on the occasion of the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine, the Diploma of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” was awarded to:

The Center for Culture and Student Creativity of the Poltava Polytechnic gifted the graduates of the Department of Military Training a musical performance.
Recently, the defenders awarded the Polytechnic team for their contribution to Ukraine’s victory.
