“We have been planning to organize an exhibition at the Contemporary Art Centre of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for a long time, since the middle of winter. Unfortunately, the lockdown has brought its corrections to our creative plans. We are glad that we have managed to bring the idea to life. We invite people to meet this kind of art online. I wish the young artists continuous creative development,” the member of the National Association of Artists of Ukraine and the International Association of Art Critics in Paris, PhD in Art Studies, the Head of the Department of Fine Arts of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Tetiana Zinenko commented.
The Head of the art studio, the member of the National Association of Artists of Ukraine Yurii Bernatskyi helps students to learn all the aspects of the technological process of printing, starting with sketching and finishing with the graphic picture. Today, there are more than 30 children of 7 to 17 years old studying at the studio.
“We have chosen one of the most difficult techniques - printing - for the exhibition. It is an absolutely new form of art, which teaches young artists to watch, to evaluate art works in the exhibition space. It allows to evaluate the level of students’ technique and present the results of our eight-year-long creative activity. One-third of the works were created this year and are exhibited for the first time. Thanks to the printing unit bought two years ago, more and more children try this technique and reach significant results in it. We are thankful to the university for popularizing children’s art. It’s a new achievements and great positive motivation for the art studio students to reach new creative achievements,” Yurii Bernatskyi said.
The exhibited works are very diverse in the techniques, such as dry needle, monotyping, engraving on cardboard and their combinations. There are various genres present, such as still lifes, landscapes, portraits, animalier art, quick sketches and complex detailed art compositions.
